In this immersive yoga training experience, you will be living in a peaceful community environment while developing friendships with your fellow trainees. You will engage in a regular daily routine that includes meditation, asana practice sessions, theory classes, practice teaching, self-study, and plenty of free time to enjoy the natural surroundings. Mantras and Mudras

Mantras are considered an important part of Hatha Yoga. When you recite mantras, the energy channels of the body open up, and you become more receptive to the universe. It also aids one to focus the mind on the yoga practice. When you recite mantras, your stored emotions are released and you get the full benefits of the asanas.

Mudras are nothing but gestures, which you make with your hands and fingers mostly. There are nerves that pass through the fingertips, and each one is connected to a specific organ. When you press the same, you are actually providing therapeutic healing to those body parts.

Bandhas

In Vinyasa Yoga, you will discover three essential bandhas that harness subtle energies. These bandhas aid in breath retention, allowing for prolonged posture holding. They promote tranquility and composure throughout your Vinyasa Yoga practice, while also facilitating the smooth flow of Prana.

The four bandhas in yoga are:

Practicum

The teacher generally sets a goal for the class, which you have to accomplish. You will get adequate guidance in the sequence from a trained yoga expert at Shree Hari Yoga School.

Daily routine

From Monday to Saturday, generally from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm, your daily routine encompasses multiple practice sessions, practical and theory classes, and open time for self-study and practice teaching with fellow trainees. Saturdays offer a half-day of coursework, while Sundays provide a much-deserved break to relax, study, and immerse yourself in the beauty of your surroundings.

Location

Gokarna is a small temple town on the western coast of India in the Kumta taluk of Uttara Kannada district of the state of Karnataka. The main temple and deity are Lord Shiva, who is also known as Mahabhaleshwara. This temple houses what is believed to be the original image of Lord Shiva's lingam (Atmalinga).

$Gokarna is known as one of the seven important Hindu pilgrimage centers. It is on what was once an unspoiled beach near the estuary of the river Aghanashini. Recently, due to the number of tourists, the character of the town has changed; it is no longer just a center of pilgrimage, though large numbers of devotees visit to offer prayers and worship to Lord Shiva.

Due to its laid-back, unspoiled, and rustic nature, many younger western tourists started visiting Gokarna about a decade ago. The beaches around Gokarna were hardly used by the locals until these mainly western tourists started coming enterprising locals started stores, restaurants, and now the resorts also cater to wealthier tourists.

The drive up on the winding path that leads to Gokarna is scenic, with the rocky mountains and the Western Ghats on one side and the Arabian Sea on the other. Gokarna is known for its beaches. The Gokarna's main beach and Kudle Beach are facing west. Om Beach, Half Moon Beach, and Paradise Beach (also known as Full Moon) are facing south. Heaven Beach and Nirvana Beach (3 kilometers long with fine white sand) are across the Aghanashini River.

Recommended Airports

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Goa International Airport (GOI) or Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru (BLR). Dabolim airport in Goa is the nearest airport, 140 kilometers away. It is well-connected to Indian and international cities.

Arrival by bus

Buses and trains are available from all airports dropping you off near Gokarna. Buses travel here from Bengaluru, Mangalore, Hubli, and other major cities. You can also catch a bus from Madgaon, near Goa. Gorkana is about 10 kilometers off the NH17 connecting Mumbai to Kochi.

Arrival by train

The nearest railway stations are Gokarna Road (10 kilometers) and Ankola (20 kilometers). You can catch an auto rickshaw from the train station. It can be pre-booked with them.

Arrival by taxi

Another option is to contact Shree Hari Yoga and they will hire a taxi for pick up at the airport.
