Inspired by renowned yogi B.K.S. Iyengar, restorative yoga utilizes props like blankets, cushions, bolsters, and straps for enhanced comfort and longer pose holds. It promotes deep relaxation and surrender, activating the body’s relaxation response. Unlike yin yoga, it aims for a state of no sensation.
With the support of props like blocks, bolsters, blankets, and more, poses are held for extended periods, fostering introspection and well-being. Beyond the mat, restorative yoga cultivates mental and physical relaxation, intuition, heart connection, and activates the parasympathetic nervous system.
