Students discipline, Rules and Regulations at the School

  • To obtain maximum benefit and maintain the divine purpose, all students are requested to follow the entire daily schedule of the yoga program. Student has to be present in all scheduled program of SYPAS.
  • Students are requested to observe silence and avoid movement during ‘Naad Yoga’ meditation between 18:00 to 18:15 daily on SYPAS Campus.
  • Smoking, drinking alcohol, intake of drugs, and eating non-vegetarian food is not allowed at SYAPS.
  • To respect the local culture and the ascetic tradition, kindly restrain from expressions of affection such as kissing in public.
  • Kindly do not go to/near the river Ganges by yourself as it can be dangerous due to the turbulent flow of water in this region
  • Students are requested to take care of their personal belongings.
  • Shower in an early morning before the classes.
  • Silence during meals at the dining area.
  • If you are having a fast any day or going out, you have to inform manager for avoiding food waste.
  • Always be in the time; if you are late means will not be permitted to join class.
  • The student's behavior and attitude, while at the school, should respect school culture and enhance the spiritual atmosphere of the school.
  • Students should maintain an atmosphere encouraging mutual respect, civil and congenial relationships and free from all forms of harassment and violence, where everyone can discuss their differences and exchange ideas openly, honestly and respectfully.
  • Students should use respectful language with each other. Any bullying, negative gossiping, spreading of rumors may result to expulsion from the course.
  • Students should not make public displays of affection. Public nudity is forbidden. Celibacy as part of the spiritual discipline is encouraged while staying at the school. Modest dress (shoulders, midriff and legs covered).
  • If you are going outside kindly inform office staff of the school and come back before 10 PM at the school
  • Use of electronic gadgets like mobile phones / tablets etc. is not allowed during the classes
  • Use of heavy electrical items like iron, water cooker etc is not allowed in the rooms due to electricity overload problem.
  • Photography, video, audio recording is not allowed during the classes without prior permission of the management.

Included excursions

You will have excursions to Ram Jhula and Laxman Jhula in Rishikesh. Additionally, you will also attend Ganga Arti, visit a waterfall, and have an enjoyable nature walk.

How to get there

Recommended Airports

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL). You may rent a car or catch a taxi from the airport at your own expense.

Alternatively, you may book another flight to the nearest domestic airport near Rishikesh, which is the Dehradun Airport (DED). Transfer from and to this airport is included. Shriram Yog Prashikshan & Anusandhan Society will pick you up from the airport.

Arrival by bus

From Delhi, the city of Rishikesh is about 230 kilometers away and is well connected by buses. A bus journey may take about five to seven hours depending on the traffic and it costs you about 130 to 350 INR. A bus with air conditioning will cost about 250 to 700 INR. In Rishikesh, there are several travel agencies scattered around Swarg Ashram and Lakshman Jhula that can book luxury buses to common destinations like Delhi, Jaipur, Pushkar, and Varanasi.

Arrival by train

A quiet branch line connects Rishikesh to Haridwar, but there are only about three slow trains daily. It is better to take the train to Haridwar and continue by bus from there which will take 45 minutes and costs 30 INR, by taxi it will take 30 minutes and costs 800 INR, or by auto-rickshaw taking 40 minutes and 500 INR.

However, traveling by train is recommended in peak seasons or during a "mela" (fair) when bus routes are diverted in Haridwar, whereas trains often run empty and the fares are low at just 4 INR for a passenger train service.

You can take share rickshaws (vehicle brand name Vikram) towards Lakshman Jhula for 15 INR from Rishikesh station. You will have to cross Ram Jhula to reach Swarg Ashram on the other side of River Ganga. There are many trains from Delhi to Haridwar. Some of the better options are Shatabadi Express, Jan Shatabdi, AC Special Express, and Mussoorie Express.

  • The deposit is fully refundable if the booking is cancelled up to 60 days before the arrival date.
