This yoga teacher training will take part in the sanctuary part of the retreat facility. It is made up of a large Spanish style house Casablanca, a smaller house with pool they call Casa piscina, Casa Misky which consists of two traditional adobe bungalows, a stunning Maloka (with comfortable space for 26 guests) massage rooms, a temazcal (sweat lodge), cold plunge pool, and firepit all under the stars (and in your own backyard). The two adobe bungalows of Casa Misky are private suites with unique circular kitchens and private patios.

The two large homes on the property provide a large private dining area for the group (with chef and kitchen team) as well as two living rooms spaces each with fireplaces, one kitchen for your own use and of course, the gardens and swimming pool to enjoy! Moreover, this lovely retreat center offers pools, saunas, fire circles, beautiful hikes, opportunities for a sweat lodge with a cold plunge pool, and inspirationally constructed yoga studio spaces.

The complete yoga teacher training is divided into two programs. The first yoga teacher training will take place from June 24 to July 8, 2019, in California, USA. The second yoga teacher training will take place from October 16 to October 30, 2019, in Peru.

Please note that the first yoga teacher training in California is prerequisite to be able to join the second one. Since this program is organized as a cohort, attendance at both sessions is mandatory for completion of hours and graduation from the program. Under extenuating circumstances, Soma Yoga Institute will allow makeup hours which can be arranged on a pre-approved case-by-case basis. Please inquire Soma Yoga Institute for specifics.

The two-part yoga teacher training is specifically designed to allow teachers to take the concepts from the first immersion home to integrate into their teaching before returning to complete their final hours. During the three month break between sessions, students will engage in an online community and mentored home-study. Advanced studies videos will be available to download free of charge for those interested. These lessons will include a review of alignment review, anatomy, assists, sequencing, and effective cuing.

Students who complete their subsequent trainings are eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT®).

This advanced teacher training program is approved with Yoga Alliance and graduates are eligible to register with Yoga Alliance (Y.A.) as an RYT-500. The therapeutic perspective and curricular components of this program are based on Liz Heffernan's registration as Certified Yoga Therapists with the International Association of Yoga Therapists (C-IAYT) and not derived from their status as E-RYT 500 by Yoga Alliance Registry as the Yoga Alliance Registry certifies only for yoga teacher and not therapist.
