Hatha yoga is all about experiencing the movement of prana through the body. It is a profoundly therapeutic process and life-enhancing practice that allows your body, mind, and emotions to heal thus, creating the space for a continuing journey of transformation and realization. In this training, you will learn an excellent foundation for all the basic poses, how to avoid injuries and the necessities in adapting poses and sequences for all physical levels and needs. The course is based on an energetic and spiritual approach through Yoga respecting not only the physical body and its needs but also deeply investigating the underlying energy body, or vital body, the emotions, mind, spirit and soul. Nothing less than a fantastic introduction to a profound discipline and how to share with and teach others. This training is based on the Iyengar and Sivananda methods of teaching Hatha Yoga, as well as the instructors' wide-ranging experience in energy work and healing.
Accommodation includes a big traditional villa and a townhouse. Dormitory (5 beds in 2 adjoining rooms), twin and single accommodation are all available. Both villa and town house have fantastic views to the sea and easy access to the superb village swimming pool, cafes, bars, and shops. This 200 hours Hatha yoga teacher training is registered by Yoga Alliance International and International Yoga Federation. The course reflects an energetic and therapeutic approach to yoga in line with the instructors' wide-ranging experience (which includes: 30 years experience as a professional Shiatsu therapist and teacher). Sequences taught are designed to improve both strength and flexibility as well as bring awareness to the flow of subtle energy through the body.
This program will enable future graduates to teach with confidence. The sequences taught, core asana sequences and vinyasa, are designed to provide an excellent foundation to all the basic poses, to teach avoiding any injury and where necessary adapt poses and sequences for differing physical levels and needs. Emphasis is on getting prana (energy) to flow while doing the poses, to understand their therapeutic benefits and for each person to practice with enjoyment, correct breathing, and sincerity - ultimately harmonizing mind, body, and energy.
The spiritual notions of yoga can also be found in other philosophical systems such as Buddhism or the Western traditions such as Greek and Egyptian. This will be looked at more closely in the yoga philosophy classes.
Basic postures and variations, sun salutation, relaxation, abdominal breathing, full yogic breath, two pranayama techniques, advanced postures, and meditation.
Beginners and intermediary classes for all levels and ages (touches on classes for the elderly, children, and yoga for pregnancy).
Teaching techniques: guiding, coaching, leading, use of language and communication, use of props, hands-on assisting, finding your personal teaching style, designing classes for mixed levels, teaching new postures in depth, assessing individual needs, ethics, and safety guidelines.

These are 20-hour activities.
Introduction to bodywork, Shiatsu, Chinese meridians, developing sensitivity, tuning into chakras and energy fields, chanting, DVD and other relevant documentaries.
This retreat requires you to wear plain comfortable clothing with no logos. Plain white, yellow, blue, orange clothes are best. Please avoid dark or black clothes or mixed colours.

The practical part will be evaluated by continuous assessment and the theory in the final written exam.
Practitioners are advised to have a minimum of 100-hour yoga experience. It is also helpful for students to have a basic understanding of the philosophy of yoga, lifestyle, and diet. However, all these subjects will also be taught during the course.
Successful applicants should be in general good health both physically and emotionally, in order to complete this course with the focus and dedication it requires. Individuals who do not meet these minimum requirements may apply for a place and their applications will be evaluated on a case by case basis.
You may want to use your free days for excursions. You have a choice of beaches, mountains, small typical old villages or cities such as Valencia and Benicassim on the coast or the ancient city fortress of Morella with its massive walls and commanding castle 50 kilometers inland.
Cervera Del Maestre is a small village in the mountains 16 kilometers inland from Benicarló, on the Spanish Costa del Azahar, 2.5 hours drive south of Barcelona, and 1.5 hours north of Valencia. The region is well known for its abundant agricultural produce, beaches, mountains, and historical towns and villages.
The price includes two main meals per day, lunch, and dinner. a very light breakfast is provided but students are advised not to eat before the morning asana class. A light snack is provided after the morning asana practice. All meals are vegetarian and prepared by the cook at the villa and will include a completely vegan option as well.
In your free time, you can enjoy the village swimming pool or the small pool at the villa. The nearest beach is just 20 minutes away and easy to reach by shared taxi. You may also want to simply walk in the stunning local surroundings, or just sit back enjoy the fantastic views and relax. You may also want to go on an excursion on your days off. Here you have a choice of beaches, mountains, beautiful old and typical villages and the cities of Valencia or Benicassim on the coast or the mountain fortress of Morella 45 km inland.
In addition to the healing modalities explored in the course, students have the opportunity to arrange private treatments. These can be arranged at an additional cost during the course.
