During your course you will learn:

The art of sequencing and movement

Yoga is Dance “T. Krishnamacharya”

In the west, they usually look at yoga as the flow is a movement based “thing”. However, in India for 1000’s of years yoga has been practiced with strong static postures. Hatha Yogies of Natha or Naga sects has often been known to just practice one static posture for the entire life.

Compared this to the west, yoga is more of a movement-based practice. Prathabi Jois himself designed the primary and secondary series of sequence practice which is known as “Ashtanga yoga class” in the west.

At The Yoga Cave Initiative, aspire to give you the most authentic and blissful experience of classical yoga. During your course, you will explore how to thread one posture to another posture.

The art of moving from one posture to another is known as “Vinyasa”. They will teach you the art of Vinyasa and how to thread your postures to gather in a way where your practice of yoga becomes like a dance or moving meditation. This art will enable you to formulate your own sequence in a safe and systematic manner.

You will explore how “Sequential creative movements that interlink postures to form a continuous flow; It creates a “movement meditation” that reveals all forms as being impermanent and for this reason are not held on to” - Gregor Maehale.

Abhyasya Vairagyam

Vairagyam often referred to as a state of renunciation or detachment that one enters when they participate in intense spiritual austerities like Yoga, fasting and ecstatic dancing.

In Patanjali Yoga Sutra, it has been stated that the key to enter the state of Samadhi through yoga is to experience “Abhayasa Vairagyam”. This is a state of mind that a yogi can enter during the intense practice of yoga. During your course, The Yoga Cave initiative will encourage you to live a holistic lifestyle that will assist you in experiencing Abhyasa Vairagyam.

They will teach you how to align and connect, breath (Ujjai), and movement to create a practice that feels like moving meditation. They believe the depth of an asana is it its breath. There are only 8.4 million yoga postures but the breath is infinite.

When you practice creative movements, with Ujjai breath (tantric breathing system), you will learn how to make your postures spiritual or “movement meditation”

  • From kumbhak to kumbhak, this intense yoga practice may put you in a state of what Patanjali called abhyasa vairagyam. The Yoga Cave initiative will do their best to teach the art of abhyasa vairagyam.
  • You will learn different styles of Surya namaskars practiced in India and internationally
  • You always aspire to give you the right tools. Our Teaching methods sessions are designed to give you the right tools to pass on your knowledge of yoga to others systematically and ethically
  • You will also explore, basic principles of formulating sequences
  • You will learn hands-on traditional adjustments techniques
  • Benefits of each asana from a spiritual, mental and physical perspective
