Join True North Vinyasa in a yoga teacher training and teacher immersions set in beautiful surroundings. Based out of hand-picked boutique venue in Europe, the world-class trainings consist of small groups and stay true to the essence of Vinyasa: creative, contemporary, and playful. This is an immersion into a transformational personal physical practice. It's a hands-on catapult into skillful Vinyasa teaching and the business of being a teacher. It's a toolkit that will help you find your voice and your calling as a yoga teacher.
You will be accommodated at Buddha Retreats during this yoga teacher training. You will be staying in aesthetically stimulating small hotels, each with great boutique style and attention to detail. Prices are based on comfortable shared accommodation, either in a double or triple room with private or sometimes shared bathroom. Shared twin rooms and single rooms upon request are available. The rooms are spacious and light and some rooms have ensuite bathrooms when other have shared ones.
Upon completion of this yoga teacher training, students are eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT®). Registration with Yoga Alliance provides a globally recognized credential.
The private retreat center is located in a small village, with lots of garden space and a pool. True North Vinyasa will close the door to the outside world and let you immerse fully into a physical practice. You'll start practicing the art of teaching, shifting from being a student to becoming aware of the teacher's perspective.
You will focus increasingly on the teacher's skill set and toolbox. You are introduced to sequencing, alignment, adjusting, and assisting, class themes, anatomy. You'll start to connect the dotted lines between ancient teachings and modern yoga. You are invited to explore finding your own voice and offering, as well as the technicalities of designing and successfully executing classes for different types of students and needs.
True North Vinyasa will invite you to fully step into the role of a yoga teacher. You will continue your daily practice, adding a more thorough analysis of each class and incorporating an increasing amount of hands-on teaching and adjusting. You are introduced to the skills needed to build a business in yoga as well as marketing, branding, and public relations.
Clear verbal communication and a varied, inspirational way with words are essential parts of your success as a yoga teacher. While the training is in English, True North Vinyasa is aware that you may not teach in English. They will encourage you to work in your language whenever possible but they can only offer effective support in English, Swedish, and Spanish.
True North Vinyasa offers this course as a 22-day with additional preparation time and follow-up assignments before and after. The intensive format allows you to fully dedicate yourself to a transformational practice and journey. They believe the personal immersion is a key component in becoming yoga teacher.
True North Vinyasa believes in the power of beautiful surroundings and good nourishing food. For this training, they have carefully picked two amazing venues in Portugal.
True North Vinyasa a strong team of two main teachers. Together, they have 17 years of combined teaching experience and over 30 years of combined practice. They are ready to share their knowledge of owning a successful studio, organizing fully booked retreats, sequencing memorable classes and designing unique, sold-out workshops. They are also ready to share their mistakes, insights from embarrassing teaching moments, and less inspiring trainings.
Group size for this training is limited to 20 students, making the student-teacher ratio 10:1. This is unusual and guarantees individual attention and a high quality teacher training.
True North Vinyasa have a solid worldwide network and will continue to offer insight and mentorship for an unlimited time after the teacher training has ended.

True North Vinyasa stays true to the core of modern Vinyasa. This means they don't provide answers and never ask you to memorize a sequence or a script. In fact, they won't even give you a sequence. Instead, you will focus on the foundational knowledge you need in order to create your own sequences and scripts with confidence. You will learn the craft of teaching Vinyasa.
The training follows and greatly exceeds the outline of Yoga Alliance and will earn you a 200-hour yoga teacher certificate. But above all, it will mark the beginning of your new life as a skilled, articulate, creative, and inspirational Vinyasa teacher. From day one you will be guided in deepening your practice and fine tuning the skills you'll need to be an empowered and empowering yoga teacher. Your own personal practice and choices, on and off the mat, make up the foundation of your offerings as a teacher. Exploring the refinement of body, movement, breath, energy flow, and clarity of mind is the base of the training. Be prepared to push your mental and physical boundaries throughout these intensive three weeks. Be prepared for major shifts, changes, and transitions - again, some of the key components of Vinyasa Flow yoga.
Note: This is a physically demanding teacher training aimed for those who really want to teach Vinyasa Flow yoga.
Lisa Andersson Rhodiner (SWE) is an E-RYT 200 Yoga Alliance certified Vinyasa Flow and Hatha yoga teacher, based in the seaside town of Ericeira, western Portugal. She has been teaching yoga full time ever since graduating her first teacher training in Bali in 2012, offering classes, workshops, and retreats in both Europe and Asia. In addition, Lisa has taught at a number of international yoga festivals and events. She’s mentored and assisted at several teacher trainings and is the co-founder of True North Vinyasa and Inspiro Yoga, offering retreats, events, and trainings since 2013.
Elin Jensen (SWE) is an E-RYT 200 certified vinyasa teacher based in the seaside town of Båstad, southern Sweden. Elin shares her love for yoga out of the studio Yogalito in Båstad, as well as at retreats, workshops, and trainings in Mallorca, Portugal, and Sweden. Elin balances yoga with family life and a parallel career as a branding and marketing consultant. She's is passionate about raising the level of professionalism, quality, and skill amongst yoga teachers and has created the workshop concept branding and marketing for Yoga Teachers.
The trainings will be held at the beautiful Buddha Retreats in the village of Columberia, Portugal, about an hour drive north from Lisbon.
You will be served three delicious vegetarian meals daily. Meals are wholesome plant-based meals based on what's in season in Portugal. Organic produce is used where possible.
There are several therapies offered at Buddha Retreats you can indulge in during your free time. You can book an Ayurvedic massage, a yoga massage, and a hot stone therapy.
