This course takes place at heavenly Bounty Resort, which has a beautiful ocean view yoga shala, private beach, swimming pool, lush green gardens, and easy access to several more incredible beaches, which are perfect for swimming and snorkeling. ULU Yoga highly recommends you stay at Bounty Resort to build a loving community with other students. The school has worked closely with the resort over two years to create outstanding quality and service. Bounty Resort has deluxe cliff-side accommodation with incredible ocean views, standard air-conditioning rooms, and wooden fan bungalows. All rooms have hot water, private bathroom, balcony, and free Wi-Fi. There is also a great restaurant, laundry service, motorbike rental, ATM and a short walk to convenient shops and cafes. You can also just pay the course tuition and self-book a room and food. Nearby are many options.

This course is carefully designed according to Yoga Alliance standards, but also flexible to student needs and subject to change. 1) Techniques and Practice 2) Teaching Methodology 3) Anatomy and Physiology 4) Yoga Philosophy 5) Teaching Practice 6) Self-Study.

1. Techniques & Practice 100 (hours)

Study the correct practice, form, and alignment of about 50 traditional hatha yoga asanas. Learn sun salutations and various other sequences to accommodate different ages and levels. Connect poses with movement and breath to create graceful dynamic vinyasa flows.

Aerial Yoga

ULU Yoga is famous for its cushioned aerial swings and unique style. Mix aerial with traditional Hatha, Vinyasa, Acro, Restorative & performance. Swings support the body weight to enhance the range of motion, attain correct alignment, do advanced poses, decompress the spine & cure back pain. Also, practice with regular silk hammocks.

Acro & SUP Yoga

Acro nurtures trust and communicate in fun and challenging new ways. SUP Yoga offers a direct connection to nature while floating above the crystal clear waters. Both help deepen the skills for regular asanas, as the require maximum focus and balance.

Additional 50HR CYT

Classical Yogic Training offers daily meditation, pranayama breathing, and kriya cleansing techniques, plus weekend workshops to explore the chakras, mantras, kirtan, and Ayurveda. (28 Day 200-hour students can take this to get additional Continuing Education hours for $499 to register with Yoga Alliance right after).

2. Teaching Methodology (25 hours)

Learn communication skills, teaching styles, teacher qualities, student learning process, group dynamics, fulfilling individual needs, principles of demonstration, observation, assisting and correcting.

3. Anatomy & Physiology (20 hours)

Learn the biomechanics of movement, health benefits of various asanas, techniques to treat illnesses and injuries, principles of compression and proportion and bodily systems (respiratory, muscular, skeletal and energetic).

4. Yoga Philosophy (30 hours)

Cultivate a deep understanding of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, 8 limbs, yamas, niyamas, nadis, chakras, koshas, gunas, doshas, and karma. Study the various branches and history of yoga. Learn how to integrate this wisdom and create an authentic yogic lifestyle.

5. Teaching Practice (10 hours)

Become a confident skilled instructor. Practice teaching every day in pairs plus leading the whole class. Design and teach 4 complete classes. Learn assisting and hands-on adjustments. Received detailed feedback analysis.

6. Group Work & Self-Study (20 hours)

Prepare the body and mind for intensive training. There are Pre-course videos to practice basic poses. During the course students do 1hr daily self-study and group work: read the manual, review notes and design classes.


ULU Yoga is an official Yoga Alliance School. Upon completion of this yoga teacher training, students are eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT®). Registration with Yoga Alliance provides a globally recognized credential. Since 2014, ULU Yoga has led over 100 trainings and helped graduates start a business and get jobs at elite yoga centers and resorts.


The course focuses on how to practice correctly, explore what’s possible with creative workshops and develop confidence as a skillful instructor. Students should take rest and skip advanced options. Some students have no experience and join for fun. Some are professionals seeking qualified certification.


ULU Yoga is famous for its unique style and cushioned aerial swings, which are sold around the world. The fitted padding and poly-thread fabric provide greater comfort and support so you don’t slip or bruise the skin like with regular silk hammocks, thus facilitating a greater range of practice and development.


Students receive printed manuals. ULU Yoga recommends studying Teaching Yoga by Mark Stephens, Hatha Illustrated by Martin Kirk, Yoga Anatomy by Leslie Kaminoff, Patanjali's Yoga Sutras, Hatha Yoga Pradipika, and the Bhagavad Gita.

Haad Yao Beach

Just a few minutes walk from the yoga center is magnificent Haad Yao Beach with crystal clear turquoise water and smooth white sand. It is a perfect place to practice acro and normal hatha yoga. You can also visit there during the break time for swimming and snorkeling.

Secret Beach

Just a few minutes walk in the other direction is wonderful Secret Beach where you can practice walking meditation. The beach has many trees which provide a shady path to cultivate peaceful serenity as you pace in step with the rolling waves.

Koh Phangan is an island in the gulf of Thailand. It has banks and supermarkets near the pier, but mostly the island is still pristine beautiful nature. The airport is on the next island Koh Samui, which is only a 30-minute ferry ride. Because of this, Koh Phangan has no traffic or pollution or annoying tour groups like Phuket. It is a magical island paradise with breathtaking mountain views, green jungles full of wildlife, heavenly turquoise waters, and golden rainbow sunsets. Like Bali, Koh Phangan is a top world destination for yoga and wellness with healthy cafes, boutique shopping, and spiritual activities like Kundalini, Tantra, and ecstatic dance.

The course takes place near Haad Yao Beach, which is 15 minutes' north of Thong Sala, where the main ferry terminal is. 10 minutes south of Thong Sala is Baan Thai, where many cheap hostels and parties take place like half moon, black moon, shiva moon and jungle experience. At the southern end of Baan Tai, there is a crazy road that goes over the mountain to the east side of the island where Thong Nai Pan beach and Than Sadet beach are located. 20 minutes south of Thong Sala is Haad Rin beach, where the Full Moon party takes place.

Packages with accommodation include a daily healthy vegetarian breakfast. The meals are yogic, body and mind balancing foods including fresh tropical fruits, muesli, gluten-free coconut rice porridge, green smoothie, yogurt, eggs, salad, toast and jam, coffee and tea. Things to do (optional)

During your free time, you can visit the nearby beautiful beaches, take a boat tour, visit historical temples, take cooking classes, book a massage, do kite surfing, stand up paddle boarding, paragliding, or simply relax and create time for yourself. The island is also famous for hiking in the lush green jungle forests and mountain treks. Students can organize many outings to visit waterfalls, night markets, and temples.


Just a couple minutes walk from the the yoga center are three incredible beaches with crystal clear turquoise water perfect for swimming and snorkeling with exotic fish and colorful coral. Haad Yao Beach is long and wide with many great cafes, Secret Beach is a shanti hideaway with shady trees and Bounty Resort has small private beach to mediate and connect with nature.

More beaches

Koh Phangan has over 30 world class beaches, which are all free and open to the public. Every 5 minutes there is another gem close by waiting for you to discover. Just keep walking, rent a motorbike or take a taxi.


Snorkeling is a nice way to get a glimpse of the beautiful underwater world around the island. There are many great snorkel spots on the island, especially on the Northwest coast. One of the best spots is located around the little island of Koh Ma (Horse Island), off Mae Haad beach at the Northwestern tip of Koh Phangan.

Boat trips

Boat trips around the island or to other islands can be arranged at reception. The most popular is Angthong National Marine Park, a fascinating archipelago of 42 tropical islands, limestone islands and cliffs which rise from the sea as dramatic and bizarre rock formations. hidden emerald lagoons, white sandy beaches, coral gardens.

Phaeng Waterfall National Park

Phaeng Waterfall National Park is located in the village of Madua Wan. The park has a nice waterfall close to the entrance and some trekking routes to mountaintop viewpoints, including a long winding foot trail leading up to Koh Phangan’s highest mountain peak Khao Ra of 630 meters.

Visit the biggest Don Yang in Thailand

A don yang is a huge tropical tree and this gigantic specimen measures 14 meters in diameter, stands to branch off leaves and limbs for hundreds of years.

Visit the Chinese temple

The Chinese temple is the result of the dream a woman had in 1990 in which the (Chinese) Buddha spoke to her and asked her to build a firelight for the people.

Visit Wat Khao Noi

Wat Khao Noi is the oldest temple on Koh Phangan with ancient buildings and Chedis. The Buddha statue inside has been there for more than 300 years now.


Haad Yao Beach has kayak rental is a perfect location to explore the surrounding beaches.

Mountain bike trips

Mountain bikes are available for rent near by. Experience mountain biking through the jungle paths and mountainous roads with incredible views at every turn.

Koh Phangan has three Muay Thai stadiums in Thong Sala, one in Haad Rin and one in Thong Nai Pan, where regularly events are being held. You may go there to experience a night of Thailand’s most popular sport.

How to get there

Recommended Airports

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Samui Airport (USM) or Surat Thani Airport (URT).

From Koh Samui Airport (USM), you may buy a joint bus & ferry ticket (30 minutes, 400 THB) to Koh Phangan - Thong Sala pier. Buses leave the airport almost every hour. Plan to arrive at the airport by 16:30 to catch the last ferry at 18:00. But check online as times can change.

From Surat Thani Airport (URT), you may buy a joint bus and ferry ticket (1 hour + 3 hours, 500 THB) to Koh Phangan - Thong Sala pier. Buses leave the airport almost every hour from 08:00 until 16:10. So plan to arrive at the airport by 15:40 to catch the last ferry, which departs from Surat Thani - Donsak Pier at 18:00.

From Koh Phangan - Thongsala pier, you may take a taxi (20 minutes, 150 THB) to Bounty Resort, Haad Yao.

  • The deposit is fully refundable if the booking is cancelled up to 21 days before the arrival date.
