Join Vedaguru Centre of Vedic science for your Ayurveda and yoga training course. Kerala has preserved the ancient culture of Bharath-Vedic culture; adhering to its solemn principle. The Vedaguru Centre is an ambience of virgin wilderness and homely hospitality. You will learn how to relax. The traditional Kerala home offers a peaceful environment for you to relieve your tensions and in itself teach you meditation training. Each room has an attached Western bathrooms (with hot shower).
The center represents authentic, traditional ambiance of living in communion with all the elements of nature in the shape of its cottages. Perfect for someone who wants to escape to peace and solitude, all together, this place will tell you how to change your life.
Immerse in nature to discover the greenest region of the state of Kerala. During the tour we will alternate cultural and naturalistic routes because one of the deepest values of Vedaguru Centre is the respect of the traditions of tribal people, nature and conservation of places. The aim of the tour is to raise awareness of an ancient culture that mass tourism and globalization are increasingly defacing the flattening of the uses and customs.
Tribal dances, performances of tabla, Indian classical dance as Mohini Attam and Bharata Natyam. The performances are led by local artists in order to promote culture and the preservation of ancient folk traditions. In this way, Vedaguru Centre enter supports economically art projects that would otherwise not receive any support from local authorities.
Craft shop - Managed by local womens self-help groups for selling local forest products, souvenirs, local handicrafts etc.
Uravu NGO - A non-government organization that strives for empowering the marginalized and economically disadvantaged social groups, especially the traditional artisans, women and indigenous people.
Kanavu community - Kanavu is an alternative school/commune in Cheengode in Nadavayal village, in Wayanad set up by writer, activist and film director K. J. Baby. The schools activities include performances of traditional plays and music, as well as martial arts (Kalarippayattu) training.
Gurukula Botanical Sanctuary - This sanctuary is a forest garden in the Western Ghat Mountains dedicated to conservation and education. It supports a unique and endangered flora, and has been identified by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) as one of the 25 centers of biodiversity in the world.
Edakkal Caves - Two natural caves located 1,200 meters above sea level on Ambukutty Male 25 kilometers from Kalpetta. Inside the caves are pictorial writings believed to be dated to at least 5000 BC, from the Neolithic man, indicating the presence of a prehistoric civilization or settlement in this region. The Stone Age carvings of Edakkal are rare and are the only known examples from south India.
Thirunelli Temple - It is an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu on the side of the Brahmagiri hill in Kerala. The temple is located at an altitude of about 900 meters in north Wayanad in a valley surrounded by mountains and beautiful forests. It is situated 32 kilometers away from Manathavady.
Jain Temple - Located near Sulthan Bathery constructed in the thirteenth century.
Heritage museum - This is an archeological museum and has a grand collection of rare artifacts dating back to the 2nd century. These artifacts provide evidence the fact that ancient human civilization prevailed here in a structured form.
Wildlife safari - The two wildlife sanctuaries of Tholpetty and Muthanga in Wayanad offer excellent wildlife spotting. The animal population of the sanctuary ranges of Asiatic elephant, tiger, panther, jungle cat, civet, nilgiri langur, wild dog, wild gaur, spotted deer, sambar, malabar squirrel and bear. Reptiles like monitor lizard and a variety of snakes are seen. Peacock, babblers, cuckoos, owl, wood pecker and jungle fowl are only a few among the different types of birds seen in the area.
Vedaguru Centre is situated in the lap of Western Ghats pregnant with the virgin mothers of nature adorned by velvet hills and valleys and mist clad mountains, mysterious caves, jungle trails, architected by historical ruins and excavations that revealed the old rich culture.
Vedaguru serves guests only organic and Ayurvedic diet. That is grown in the village. All dishes are vegetarian according to Ayurvedic principles. If you have any special dietary requirements or restrictions, please let Vedaguru know beforehand so that we can cater to your exact needs upon your arrival.
In Kerala, you will have the opportunity to dance under the starry sky with the beat of drums in a tribal village, take part in an Indian wedding, be invited into homes to taste different dishes, meet wonderful animals, and above all do things outside of any program.
All Ayurvedic treatments in the center are done in accordance with the treatment plan prescribed by Parameswara Vaydia after a consultation with him and under his close supervision.
