The "beyond styles" approach

The program of human nature always tries to bring people into a particularity. People have a particular body, a particular way of breathing, particular state of the mind, and they occupy particular space, eat particular food, and talk to talk to particular people. Similarly, there are also particular patterns in people's life approach.

Yoga is a practice to dissolve all such kinds of particularities and to break all kinds of patterns in life. The branding of any practice into a particular style itself indicates a restricted approach. Yoga is not at all a practice to which one can bring the concept of particularity. The practice of yoga is not to restrict your awareness into a particularity through any means.

Yoga is a journey to move from particularity to infiniteness. "Beyond style" is an approach where any kind of limitation, any kind of particularity, any kind of conditionings, whether it is at body, breath, or mind level, is harmonized with the existential infinite happening to experience oneness through wisdom beyond the state of mind. "Beyond style" is a practical path which brings this metaphysical state into a practical possibility in your day to day life.

Wonderland truely was Wonderland to me

CONS Cons: Nothing to mention here

PROS Pros: I was lucky to spend 14 wonderful days at Wonderland and took the Yoga Retreat package. The resort is just 6 months old and the promotion video and pictures don't do the place justice, it's even more beautiful in reality. I stayed at a private pool view room and had a nice hammock on my balcony. All the staff members are great (especially Ham and Aly) and the Vegan food is delicious and very diverse. I am not a Vegan or Vegetarian, but I have not once felt the need to eat outside. There is a big variety of Yoga classes and meditation classes and all of the teachers were great. I came to approve my own yoga practice and have learned so much from all the teachers. The tiny Thai lady that massaged me every other day kicked my butt and managed to fold me in ways I never knew possible, but she was awesome! So thank you Wonderland for my beautiful Yoga Retreat, I will hopefully come back again and bring my family Namasté Alice in Wonderland

Organizer response: Alice, Thank you for the warm words. It is truly a gift to meet people like you on our journey, we were all so happy getting to know you. We'll be happy to host you again in the future and wishing you a safe way home.

Truly a wonderland, best thing I have ever done for myself.

CONS Cons: The resort is a bit far from pier and beaches. Steam room is a bit secluded and needs more lighting. Especially st night it gets scary.

PROS Pros: This place is truly a wonderlan, Serene and beautiful. I met some amazing people there. Met so many like minded people from all over the world and made some really good friends. Explored the island with them. It's a beautiful island. You should definite try Victoria and Nancys Yoga classes. The rooms are very clean and nice. The pool and restaurant us beautiful and cozy. All the instructors and staff are very kind & supportive and looks after all your needs. I absolutely loved their food. Best vegan food I have ever had. I was on a detoxfpr 4 days but did get to try the food on my last day. Their massages are also very high standard and I enjoyed them thoroughtly. If you can get your reiki treatment with Eyal. He is one of the most calm and spiritual person I met in in my life. Wonderland has truly changed me. I fell in love with my body and skin aftet the detox. I understood the true power of just being and not letting anything external disturb the peace of my mind. I was really sad to leave. This place can bring this strange peace and happiness in you. I am definitely going back.

    Amazing island, amazing retreat

CONS Cons: The only possible bad thing wasn't to do with the retreat at all, it was that it was a little distance to the beach and shops etc. But you make friends easy, and it is great when those friends ride scooters so can take you around. Or taxis are also easy, plus the guys at the retreat will run you around if they are free.

PROS Pros: Everything was wonderful, the retreat was above my expectations, heaps of choice with yoga classes, the room was lovely and clean, the food was actually really good- I was nervous about eating vegan as I'm normally a big meat eater but I loved it. So nice for every meal! But the thing I liked about it most was the people, there was heaps of solo travellers coming through so everyone was up for a chat and to hang out, but I also loved my new big Israeli family that work at and manage the retreat. You guys are legends! Can't wait to see you all again.

PROS Pros: Wonderland is an amazing place. I initially came for a 3-night stay but ended up staying longer. First off, the food is phenomenal, some of the best vegan food I've had. The resort is tucked away from the noise of the island and very peaceful. Nearby you can go to the beautiful beaches and hike waterfall trails. Varying yoga/meditation programs and treatments are offered every day, and teachers are great. Staff are welcoming and very helpful. The rooms are nice and clean, and the pool is a perfect alternative to the beach. This is an amazing place to relax and recharge - would definitely come back here.

CONS Cons: My only complaint would be location - I was hoping for somewhere much closer to the beach for day trips, but the resort provided rides into town if requested which was so helpful!

PROS Pros: The accommodations were superior! So clean and comfortable and the air conditioner worked well, the room was cleaned everyday and new towels were given whenever needed. It was fantastic

Organizer response: Thank you Kytline! It was our pleasure! We wish you a safe journey home and hoping to see you again in the future :)

PROS Pros: Ali's meditation was amazing! All the yoga instructors Sky, Veronica, Victoria, Leon all had unique and powerful aspects to their classes. The variety of yoga was exceptional. The staff were friendly and helpful. Book this now you won't regret it!

    Wonderful stay in Wonderland!

CONS Cons: No negatives for me. It is a little bit away from the town of Thong Sala, but that's exactly what I wanted- some peace and quiet. It's easy to rent a motorbike though, if you like to get around and the staff is so helpful if you need anything

PROS Pros: The classes, the food, the staff, the pool, the athmosphere, the massages... everything was amazing and I highly reccommend it!

Organizer response: Thank you Sigridor! It is truly a gift to meet people like you on our journey.. We will be happy to host you again in the future and wishing you a safe way home.

Amazing 8 days of relaxation & health

CONS Cons: I regret not renting a bike and visiting more of the island, especially the beaches, and getting involved in the many events that take place on the island. However, Hiem was very kind to take me to do a few errands when I needed and I was kindly offered lifts to certain events from members of the community.

PROS Pros: I had such a special week at Wonderland. It has a very welcoming and chilled atmosphere. Although I was alone, it didn't feel that way all week because of the kindness and generosity I was treated with by the staff and the community. My visit was during low season so for most of my stay I had a dorm room to myself - making the cost of the retreat amazing value. All the yoga classes were challenging which allowed me to improve my fitness and my technique. The treatments included in the package were superb and added to the luxury of the stay. Between classes, I enjoyed reading by the pool and relaxing in the room - which was beautifully air conditioned. The food and the free juice everyday had to be my highlight! I couldn't eat enough with so much variety at every meal. Wonderland provided me with everything and more to break up my 5 months of backpacking.

Organizer response: Sara - thank you so much for the warm words! It was our pleasure hosting you and getting to know you. Wishing you a safe journey back home...

"I am so sad to leave this amazing place after a 7-day yoga & meditation retreat. It's a unique place, with lovely open-hearted management. The Yoga & Qi Gong instruction was excellent, very varied classes which the teachers adjust to your level. I particularly loved the meditation classes with Ali who is so warm and compassionate, and very knowledgeable in many different styles of meditation. She even put together a long list of free resources for us to take home. I have asked her to record a guided meditation because she has such a soothing voice! "

"The food is AMAZING btw.. I was surprised! The rooms are very comfortable, clean & spacious. My only complaint would be the water which occasionally runs out at busy times, but you only have to wait a few minutes before it comes back on. Water shortages on islands are common and for me it was a good reminder to have shorter showers."

"I would love to come back in high season when there are more activities. Fantastic place."

"I love Ko Phangan. I come here to relax almost every year. In my last visit, I wanted to relax away from the crowd and decided to stay at Wonderland. The place is Amazing... It in the middle of the jungle surrounded by green tropical forest mountains. The highlight of the place are the guys that run the place. They were super friendly and helpful and made me fill at home from the second I arrived. I also really enjoyed the buffet restaurant which serves the best vegan food I had in Thailand. It was so good I didn't miss any meal and still lost a couple of pounds in the week I was there. I really recommend the place, it's a very high-end facility with Amazing service for the very reasonable price. I don't think I can get better value for my money in Phangan at the moment."

"This place is a hidden gem for those wanting an extremely peaceful experience surrounded by nature. The mountain views, forests, and gardens here are stunning. I loved being away from the crowds, and could easily get to the beaches 10 minutes away by bike. The resort also offers a free shuttle which is very useful."

"Compared to many of the healing centers on this island that I've been to, the accommodation here is of a much higher standard, with massive, super comfy beds and air-con. It has a beautiful pool and steam sauna, and the huge yoga shala is a beautiful place to practice, with mosquitos screens that let in the sunlight but prevent the risk of dengue while practicing yoga in the day time. The yoga, meditation & Qi Gong classes were varied and suitable for all standards with great teachers. "

"As a non-vegan, I was worried that I might not enjoy the food, but I could not have been more wrong, I couldn't eat enough! It was delicious and very varied, Thai & International dishes. I was glad I was not on a detox program because the food really was amazing."

"Plus the staff and community members are all extremely friendly and helpful, going out of the way to make everything special, which as a solo traveler was deeply appreciated. I will definitely be back. It's a beautiful place, good value for money, and has a vibe that is warm and inclusive."

"We have been visiting Thailand as a family almost every year and especially love the good vibe Kho Phangan offers. This year we spent almost two months in Wonderland and we have made the best choice. First, the resort is one of the most quite and beautiful. With a natural river that flows, the swimming pool, the amazing vegan food with so much diversity. Then, the most important, the people that run it, are the kindest. As a family we had so many special requests, it all been fulfilled and with a smile. Wonderland, it was our first time and can assure you it wants our last. Thanks a lot. We are happy to see you here on trip advisor. Highly recommended."

"I had an amazing life changing time! For starters, the rooms at Wonderland were excellent. I stayed in the room with an infinity pool and loved it. It was perfect for those hot sunny days where you want to get into the water but the beach water is too hot to enjoy and a bit messy to organize - the pool, however, was cool, fun and easy. "

"Also, the pictures on the website don't do the place justice. They are a bit dark because of the gray walls, but there is so much sun light most of the time that you don't feel it when you're there. The AC saved my life and the place was cleaned on a daily basis so I was really able to relax and feel very comfortable and home. "

"I think the best parts about Wonderland were the people and food. The staff is super warm, caring and welcoming. The resort is under new management so they're working hard to make customers happy. Pin, the owner, is the sweetest woman in the world and helped me with every tiny issue I had. She really loves what she does and cares about her customers. "

"In terms of the food, all I can say is WOW. The restaurant is very laid back, like most places on the island and I never knew vegan cooking could be so delicious. Every meal was a buffet of different style dishes and I had several portions in every meal. If someone is thinking to try a vegan diet for a while and see it impacts on your body and mind, this is the perfect place to make the transition. "

"One issue I had at first was the location of the resort. It's near the center of the island which is great if you want to explore the place since you're 15-20 minutes away from everything. But the downside is you need to mobile if you want to leave the resort so keep that in mind. The place offers daily shuttle rides to several points, but you can also rent a car or motorbike from the resort and then you're a problem is solved. I took a bike which was cheap and easy to ride."

"I made full use of their yoga, qi gong, and meditation classes. My favorite teachers were Leon and Skye and the yoga shala is beautiful and well equipped."

"I definitely recommend going to Wonderland and Koh Phangan. If you want to change something and perhaps bring some focus or spirituality into your life, this is a great place to do so."

"Oh, and PS: Be sure not to miss my friend Anna's yoga class! I've had hundreds of yoga classes and there is just something especially magical and nurturing about her practice, that makes me feel so cared for. "

"Wonderland is such a beautiful place! The pool is one of the better ones in Koh Pha Ngan, the accommodation standard is way higher than the competing detox resorts on the island, and the vegan buffet is absolutely delicious and very reasonable."

"I attended Anna's yoga class this morning, it's a superb standard of teaching, and I particularly loved her Thai massage touches at the end. It was such a serene experience thanks to the high standard of the yoga shala, with so much natural light pouring in. Very pleased to see the stylish mosquito screens on the shala too, makes a nice change to practice yoga without being attacked by flies and mosquitos."
