Join this Yin, Restorative, and Bhakti yoga training for an elective part of the advanced yoga teacher training program at Yandara Institute. You are welcome to attend just this module as a regenerative retreat or continuing education course. During these training, you will explore the principals and philosophy of Yin and Restorative yoga, as well as the fundamentals of Bhakti yoga. The days that you will spend together will be healing and nurturing for the body, mind, and heart. You will learn about the cultivation of a calmer state of being through daily regenerative practices and activities.
During this teacher training you will stay in deluxe tents that are spacious, comfortable, and secure. Deluxe tents include a twin bed, mattress, linens, reading lamps, and storage drawers. The tent is 12 feet by 12 feet wide and tall enough for most people to stand. If you remove the rain fly, you have the option of looking up at the stars. Hot showers and bathrooms are centrally located for all students. The facilities are comfortable but rustic, emphasizing outdoor living including a large enclosed yoga pavilion, flush toilets, a kitchen, and a dining area.
During this teacher training, the focus will be on both Yin and Restorative yoga. You will learn how to effectively teach these two distinct styles. To balance the yin and yang energies, this training also includes one yang-style, flowing asana class daily. The Yin-Restorative yoga training is ideal for those who want to advance their yoga teaching career and certification and also for those who simply want to deepen their own personal practice. This is an elective course that counts towards a 300 hour certification when coupled with a core module.
Yin and Restorative yoga are gentle, regenerative practices where all the poses are done on the floor, supported by props, to encourage deep relaxation, a natural opening of the joints, and optimal energy flow through the body. This slow and healing practice is a journey into the heart and soul of your being. It naturally cultivates inner listening, heightened awareness, compassion, and acceptance for who you are and where you are in each moment of life.
Bhakti yoga was born from a deep desire to feel and express one's relationship to the divine. Bhakti yoga offers a way to connect the spiritual heart with everyday life experience. You will explore many different devotional practices and learn to share traditional as well as contemporary mantras and kirtans. You will receive personal instruction on how to play Indian Bhakti yoga instruments, such as harmonium, sitar, tamboura, shruti box, drums, and kartals. Instruments will be provided or you can bring your own, if you enjoy playing the guitar, bring it and learn to play mantras and kirtans.
You will learn how Bhakti developed in the yogic tradition, participate in study groups to discuss, and apply the wisdom from ancient yogic texts, such as the Bhagavad Gita, Narada's Bhakti Sutras, and the Vijnana Bhairava Tantra. Learn and share mythological stories about gods and goddesses, and find out about the origin and stories behind many of the mantras and asanas. Become familiar with the Bhakti yogis of India, such as Ananda Mayi Ma, Sri Caitanya, and the wandering mystic Mirabai. Bhakti yoga will be leaded by Mercy Ananda.
This teacher training will take place at Yandara Yoga Institute in Baja California Sur. Yandara Yoga Institute is an almost four-acre nature preserve type property located on the Pacific ocean near of the magical village of Todos Santos and Cabo San Lucas. Yandara is the perfect setting for a world class yoga teacher training, stroll the miles of peaceful beachfront, or simply relax and meditate to the ever-present rhythm of the waves. During this teacher training, you will be served three daily delicious locally sourced meals. For breakfast, herbal tea, papaya, banana, handmade fresh roasted granola, oatmeal, and boiled eggs will be available. For brunch, delicious vegetarian meals are served buffet style with eggs and dairy as an option. Also, fresh local fish will be served twice a week, with a vegetarian alternative offered. For dinner, you will have a healthy and delicious vegetarian meal, which include dairy and eggs, and will be served buffet style. At Yandara Institute, the meals are prepared with attention, fulfilling the nutritional demands of an intensive yoga program.
The abundant meals are prepared with love and with the best quality ingredients and are organic when available. The students always have the option of the little extras such as the always full fruit bowl, the herbal tea station, fresh drinking water, and special homemade dressings and sauces. Yandara Institute cultivates fresh kitchen herbs, vegetables, and fruits like papayas, bananas, oranges, and mangos. The special during the trainings in Mexico are baked potato with fresh finely chopped garden herbs, fresh dill, chives, rosemary, basil and thyme, fresh local dorado with garden basil pesto, garden beet and chard salad with balsamic dressing, and samosas with garden fresh parsley, cilantro, and chutney.
Yandara Institute has put together a yogic menu of additional activities that you may choose to add to enhance or deepen your teacher training experience. While not in class, you may choose to explore your astrological birth chart, determine your Ayurvedic constitution, or align your energy and heal with Reiki. You may sign up for activities begins the second day of training.
Shiva Das has been studying astrology as part of his spiritual path for nearly thirty five years and offers a spiritual interpretation of your birth chart and your journey on earth. This astrology consultations are designed to help you understand how the laws of polarities work in your personal chart and reveal the root motivations that cause you to express yourself the way you do and pursue the things you do. Allison Eaton facilitates Reiki sessions and Reiki certification trainings as an enhancement to the Yandara yoga teacher training. Reiki is a stress-reduction technique that promotes health and vitality as it assists the body in its own restorative processes. During a Reiki session, you may rests fully clothed on the massage table. The Reiki practitioner then conducts healing energy, via the hands, to specific areas of the body. The practitioners hands are either placed lightly on the body or above the body. The cost for this sessions is 60 USD for 60 minutes.
During this training, you may also enjoy sessions with a chiropractor, or relax with a Swedish massage for an additional cost.
