Welcome to Yandara Yoga Institutes advanced yoga teacher training program, held in the beautiful and sunny Baja, Mexico. During this program you will delve deeper into the practices and philosophies of yoga and the art of teaching, aided by conscious study of yogic texts, daily sadhana sessions, and the cultivation of love through bhakti. By combining these three elements, you will create the alchemical mind-body-heart transformation that Yandara is known for and you will lay the foundation for the Yoga Life Coach certification offered by the very same institute!

You will be staying in deluxe tents which are spacious, comfortable, secure, and include a twin bed, mattress, linens, reading lamps, and storage drawers. The tent is 12 feet by 12 feet wide and tall enough for most people to stand in. If you remove the rain fly, you have the option of looking up at the stars. Hot showers and bathrooms are centrally located and shared for all students. Accommodation upgrades are available upon request and incur an extra fee.

Asana and pranayama

Advanced techniques of asana and pranayama. Workshops with precise alignment, addressing individual differences, and asana enhancements for each pose.

The kramas, or steps, of how to intelligently build up towards the more advanced techniques of yoga.

Pranayama practices, working with kumbhaka, breath retention, and counting.


  • The physical and energetic alignment cues that ground and prepare students for deep meditation.
  • Meditation on the koshas, or the layers of our human experience.
  • Mindfulness meditation, a three part technique combining pratyahara (inward attention), dharana (single pointed focus), and dhyana (effortless meditation).

Advanced sequencing

11 sequences that all build up to unique peak asanas. Every sequence can be personalized with a variety of different themes and is alternately focused on either the heating energy of the pingala nadi or the cooling energy of the ida nadi.

Build your own unique yoga classes with the support of Yandara's creative sequencing philosophy.

Yoga lifestyle, philosophy, and mythology

  • Study of chosen sutras from ancient yogic texts.
  • Yogic tales from Hindu mythology and how they relate to modern life.
  • Satya: Deepen your confidence and cultivate compassion through the practice of profound authentic communication.

Bhakti yoga

  • A number of mantras to support different sequences.
  • Japa mala: chanting with 108-bead mala.
  • The sacred space: Creating a sacred space for your practice in your home and for your students.
  • Kirtan and a chance to learn how to play traditional yogic instruments, like the tamboura and the harmonium.

Yoga anatomy and energetics

  • How to avoid and work with the most common injuries in yoga practice.
  • How stress affects the body and how to counter it with yoga.
  • The anatomy of the energy body: koshas, nadis, vayus, microcosm, and macrocosm.

Yandara Yoga Institute is a beautiful oceanfront retreat nestled beside the Pacific ocean in Mexico's southern Baja peninsula. Nature, seclusion, unspoiled white sandy beaches, and abundant fresh fruit and vegetables paired with the easy travel access from USA and Canada create the perfect setting for a world class yoga teacher training.

There, you can stroll the miles of peaceful beachfront or simply relax and meditate to the ever-present rhythm of the waves. Two miles up the beach is one of the premiere surfing spots in North America. The local climate is ideal with the sun shining year round, refreshing sea breezes, and a clear sky unique to that part of the world which is perfect for stargazing.

The price of this retreat includes three delicious meals each day. In Baja, Yandara cultivates fresh kitchen herbs and vegetables in their own organic garden, where students are always welcome to lend a hand. They have papayas, bananas, oranges, and mangos in their orchard and fresh fruit, tea, and water are always available.

Special to the Baja trainings are baked potato days with fresh finely chopped garden herbs, fresh local dorado with garden basil pesto, garden beet and chard salad with balsamic dressing, and samosas with garden fresh parsley and cilantro chutney.

  • Lunch isnt provided on Sundays as it is your day off and you will most likely be out around the town or exploring.

Things to do (optional)

Yandara has put together a yogic menu of additional offerings that you may choose to add to enhance or deepen your teacher training experience. While not in class you may choose to explore your astrological birth chart, determine your Ayurvedic constitution, adjust with a chiropractor, relax with a massage, or align your energy and heal with Reiki.

These activities may incur extra costs and signups for these services begins the second day of training. Fees are payable at the end of training with cash, credit or debit card, or through PayPal.

Spa treatments

You will be able to book a massage or a Reiki session on location, for an extra cost.

How to get there

Arrival by airplane

Flights should be booked to arrive at Los Cabos International Airport (SJD).

Arrival by bus

You can take a bus from San Diego to Tijuana, Mexico and then to La Paz. Your final destination is Todos Santos in Baja California Sur.

  • The deposit is fully refundable if the booking is cancelled up to 30 days before the arrival date.
