The school has 18 spacious rooms that are facing the river and with an attached toilet. All rooms are well equipped with basic and essential amenities like hot and cold water facility in the toilets, a ceiling fan, comfortable mattress and proper quilt, table kettle, queen size separate beds, study table, and a cupboard. The rooms are properly ventilated.
The school washroom has western toilets fitted with hot and cold water and has enough space if you need to wash your clothes, and they have a separate space for a pressing table with an electric iron box in case someone wants to press and iron their clothes after laundry.
There will be one full day of Himalayan sightseeing excursion or picnic on any Sunday or free day with the Yoga Bhawna Mission team that includes meals and transportation.
This retreat will take place at Yoga Bhawna Mission - Uttarkashi School. The school is located at a convenient distance from Rishikesh and it takes only five to six hours of scenic journey. Beautifully located on the banks of Bhagirathi River, this school is four kilometers away before the hustle and bustle and traffic jams of Uttarkashi town.
The highlight of the school is the high range Himalayan Mountain view and also the chance to practice yoga at the bank of the Ganges River. The Ganges River is so divine and offers you a mystic experience of a lifetime. Not only that, the Shiva Temple in the school premises is another highlight of the school.
Yoga Bhawna Mission strictly serves vegetarian food that is freshly prepared and are well dietary balanced and recommended for yogis. There will be two big meals: one in the morning after the asana class and then in the evening after the evening yoga session. In between in the afternoon, there will be light fruit-juice and herbal tea.
It will be a strict but very tasty meal recommended for a yogic lifestyle. However, in certain situations, individual requirements will also be taken into consideration. Yoga Bhawna Mission gives preference to locally cultivated and organic vegetables, fruits, pulses as per the availability, and also, occasionally, the kitchen team will experiment with a varied cuisine of India.
Your meal portions are full of sprout, chapatti, rice, vegetable curry, green leaves, and salad. They also add sweets, papadum, and chatni occasionally. During the festival and special occasions, Yoga Bhawna Mission adds a different taste to your meals such as sweets and dishes.
During the full day trip, Yoga Bhawna Mission will provide meals in the local restaurant where you will go. However, if Yoga Bhawna Mission brings the team for a picnic, then you will prepare the food onsite, together with the team.
At Yoga Bhawna Mission, you will have the opportunity to spend one hour daily to the nearby surroundings. The school is just adjacent to Bhagirathi River and one can have the privilege to practice on the riverbank or in the lap of the forest and mountain. You will be guided by the resident team on alternate Sundays for the mountain walk, followed by a village walk or trekking, and river walk and outdoor game such as volleyball.
You will also have the opportunity to enjoy Ayurvedic massage, Do-Sirodhara, Panchkarma sessions, and steam bath at additional costs in the nearby Ayurvedic massage center; at a distance of about three kilometers from the school.
