UttarKashi Ashram

Beautifully located on the banks of Bhagirathi River and in the lap of Himalaya, Yoga Bhawna Mission(Uttarkashi) is four kilometers before hustle bustle and traffic jams of Uttarkashi town. The ashram has 18 luxury rooms that are overlooking the river and have all modern amenities.

All the rooms have queen-size beds, air-conditioning, LCD TV, and hot geysers in the toilets. The accommodation provided at Yoga Bhawna Mission is on a sharing basis. However, in special cases, Yoga Bhawna Mission will provide single occupancy-based accommodation under their terms and conditions.

This is a full-time regular residential course, extended over eight weeks. It will be conducted six days in a week. The course aims to prepare the trainees into effective yoga teachers. This is a typical professional beginner course and someone who wants to peruse his/her professional yoga training can enroll for this course. Upon successful completion of this course the student will be awarded with the 500-hour TTC certificate.

The trainees need to understand role and significance of yogic attitude and yogic lifestyle in life. Keeping above aims in mind, the syllabus of the course incorporates all components of the basics of yoga, yogic practices, and its teaching method. In this course, which spans over the period of eight weeks, resulting in a total 500 hours of teachings in yoga. At Yoga Bhawna Mission, students have an opportunity to spend one hour daily to the nearby surrounding, the ashram is just adjacent to Bhagirathi river and Yamuna river and one can have privilege to practice on the bank of river or in the lap of forest and mountain. You are guided by the resident team on alternate Sundays for the mountain walk followed by village walk/trekking and river walk and outdoor game such as Volleyball.

    Co-founder of Yoga Bhawna Mission , Bhawna Bhargava has been practicing yoga for over 15 years. Native to India, she started learning yoga at the age of 9.Her formal training started in 2004 at the Royal Palace School in Jaipur, India.Inspired by the experience, completed her TTC at Yoga Passage in Calgary folowed by Ashtanga training from India.Specializing on breath work Pranayama,Yoga Nidra and Meditation she continues to train and teach workshops at various events in western Canada .Her most recent endeavor has brought her back to India as a Co-founder and teacher at Yoga Bhawna Mission.

Situated at an elevation of 1,220 meters above sea level, Barkot Camp Ashram is one of the popular destinations situated in the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand, India. The Barkot city is surrounded on the north by the Dehradun district, on the northeast by Tibet, on the east by Chamoli, on the southeast by the Rudraprayag district and on the south by Tehri Garhwal district.

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL), where you can take a domestic flight into Jolly Grant Airport (DED). Transfer from and to the airport is included. Yoga Bhawna Mission escort will pick you up from the airport.

Arrival by train

You can book Shatabdi express train which runs every day from New Delhi to Dehradun railways station, it is advised to inform Yoga Bhawna Team in advance so that instead of you Yoga Bhawna Team travel desk will assist you for booking railway ticket for your smooth arrival followed by escorted guide.

Arrival by bus

You can either comes to Deharadun or Rishikesh from New Delhi and it is strongly advise to inform Yoga Bhawna Team in advance so that they can help you while arranging bus ticket from New Delhi and can escort you from Bus stand to avoid any confusion. The Yoga Bhawna Mission dedicated travel desk will assist you while booking your bus ticket.

Please note that if you are coming from New Delhi by bus then ideally you should get down to Dehradun but if you want to come to Rishikesh then you need to advise Yoga Bhawna Mission in advance so that they can arrange pickup from Rishikesh with nominal extra charge.

If you are more adventurous and want to explore on your own from New Delhi airport to Dehardun or Rishikesh, then please follow below instruction.

Depending on the time your plane arrives in Delhi, taking a bus can be a tricky option. The Volvo buses from Delhi to Dehradun stop running around 8:00 p.m. If your plane arrives in Delhi in the evening, you will have to get a hotel for the night and then make your way to Delhi ISBT (inter-state bus terminus) in the morning.

From the airport, get a prepaid taxi to take you to Delhi ISBT. You are strongly advised to only go to the government-approved taxi stand located right outside the airport exit. The price from the Delhi airport to Delhi ISBT will be 500 INR.

Once you arrive at Delhi ISBT, navigate your way to the bus station’s ticket stands on the second level (go up the escalator). Go to the Uttarakhand State booth and ask when the next Volvo bus will be leaving for Dehradun. The bus ticket approximately costs between 300 to 400 INR.

You should get off the bus at Dehradun bus station, which is usually their last stop if their destination is Dehradun.

Once you arrive at Dehradun bus station, Yoga Bhawna Mission's escort will coordinate with you as per email communication and name card.
