During the course, you will be staying in a private room.
This training will have you ready to teach in the most popular and in-demand styles of yoga: Vinyasa, Yin, and a bit of Hatha. You will learn to develop your own sequences based on the needs of your students and based on what is authentic to you. You will have the foundation to lead others confidently, knowledgeable, and safely. The styles that will be practiced during the training are Vinyasa (flow), Hatha (traditional), Yin, and yoga Nidra.
To join this course, you need to at least have one to two years of personal yoga practice. Be open-minded. Arrive with a willing heart and desire to move towards a life of a yogi! You must be present in body, mind, and spirit!
Read as much as you can about yoga philosophy, history, and various styles of yoga. Try different classes from a variety of instructors in different venues as possible.
At the end of the course, students that fulfill all the requirements will receive a 200-hour certification of yoga training recognized internationally by the Yoga Alliance.
This yoga teacher training is held at the beautiful Iguana Lodge, located in the Osa Peninsula, Costa Rica.
The Osa Peninsula is one of the last frontiers, so says National Geographic. It has a world famous jungle, is one of the most bio-diverse locations on earth, and is truly remote. Much of the Osa Peninsula is only accessible by foot, horse, or boat, and is not served by utility companies.
Puerto Jimenez is the gateway to the Osa Peninsula and is easy to get to from San Jose. During the high season, there are eight or more flights a day. The airport is about ten minutes from your lodge.
Puerto Jimenez has several restaurants, bars, simple shops, several bank, two internet cafes, a public library with both English and Spanish books, and the ubiquitous Latin American soccer field, where large flocks of scarlet macaws appear almost every afternoon.
There is a medical clinic, and a couple souvenir shops, as well as a local art gallery, jewelry store, hardware store, discotheque, and several grocery stores.
Three daily healthy organic meals are included in your package. You may bring some snacks if you think you may want them. The restaurant is open daily for many yummy items.
Please book your flight to arrive at Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO). It is recommended that the arrival at the Iguana Lodge is no later than three p.m. the day the training starts (August 23, 2018 at four p.m.). Making up hours with this tight schedule is almost impossible, so please arrive early. Possibly even arriving a full day early at your own expense. You are advised to spend the night in San Jose and take a domestic flight the next morning to arrive at Puerto Jiménez Airport (PJM). Transfer from and to this airport is included. A taxi arranged by Iguana Lodge will pick you up from the airport.
If you prefer to take a public transportation, there is daily bus service leaving from San Jose (Barrio Mexico) to Puerto Jimenez and vice versa. The bus ride takes approximately nine hours from San Jose to Puerto Jimenez and costs approximately eight USD per person each way.
Schedules vary based on seasons. There are generally two bus trips a day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.
