This teacher training course attempts to put the yoga practice into a larger context, in which yoga students will receive an integrate knowledge and
understanding of the ultimate goal of yoga training that's “Freedom” and not missing it by concentrating only on the techniques. This course is designed according to the guidelines of the ancient Vedic text and the science of Ayurveda “The since of Life”. Ayurveda is based on timeless universal principles promoting health, natural beauty and long life.
Filoxenia apartments are built in an idyllic position with a fabulous view to the sea. Both buildings are surrounded by a lovely garden area which is very spacious and has many great views. All the rooms have been nicely decorated and comfortably furnished. They all have a great balcony which is furnished with chairs and a table and has spectacular view stretching out to the sea.
Right in front of the apartments there is a path which leads to a magical small beach with blue waters where you can enjoy relaxation and swimming. Filoxenia is definitely ideal for families, couples, and for those who desire to escape from the routine of everyday life.
Levinthos retreat center consists of eco-friendly apartments which are carved into earth, bearing the lowest possible visual and environmental footprint, the cave-houses maximize the authentic relationship between the house-user and the landscape. In addition, there are four first floor studios which offer breathtaking view over the Libyan sea.
This is an option of accommodation for a limited budget. The studios are located in the village of Lentas, around 10-minute walk from the retreat center.
All accommodation options have Wi-Fi only in common areas like the restaurant and air conditioning.
This training is aimed at students who have already completed the 200-hour yoga teacher training. Therefore, the participation requires the certificate of previous studies on yoga. This phase includes guidance of ancient teachings of yoga on a deeper level as well as a closer approach on yoga philosophy through meditation practice.

There are many books that analyze yoga positions and how to get into them properly, but the practice of yoga should preferably start with a qualified yoga teacher, since it is not recommended to teach yourself.

It is very important the participants to have physical and mental health.
Maria was born in Athens, and she studied there psychology, theater, pedagogy, and dance. She studied the behavior, reaction, and expression of the human body and she guided seminars of body expression and relaxation, both in Athens and Crete. Maria was trained in Hatha yoga in Greece as well as abroad, in England and India, and she is a yoga trainer herself, recognized by Yoga Alliance International. She has been studying the world philosophy, discovering human evolution throughout time. Nowadays, she runs Breath of Life certified center in Heraklion, Crete.
Spiros is the founder and director of the Vasistha School of Yoga in Greece, practicing yoga and meditation since 1991. He is also an Ayurvedic nutritionist and educator, a massage therapist, and a sound healer, travelling and teaching worldwide.
Sabrina Rondinelli was born and brought up in Turin. Since five years, she works as massage therapist and practices yoga asana and Vipassana meditation. Her studies as body therapist begun in Kerala, India, in 2011 with a full month residential course on Ayurveda medicine and Marmapoints treatment in a local Ayurvedic clinic. She completed a 3 level school at Athens Massage and Yoga Academy based on the international curriculum of the Thai Massage School of Chian Mai. Additionally, she attended an advanced Thai massage course at Sunshine House in Evia.
This yoga teacher training will take place in Lentas, Crete, Greece. Visiting the Minoan civilization in Crete, you will have the opportunity to meet the Indian culture, studying yoga while enjoying the Mediterranean landscape and the beautiful Cretan beaches. Lentas is a small historical fishing village of the southern part of Crete in prefecture of Heraklio. Lentas village hosts the ancient temple of Asclepius God, a temple from the 5th century B.C.
During the Minoan period, Lentas was an important port, known as Levin. Lentas (means lion in Greek language) owes its name to the magisterial rock in the western side of Lentas bay, which looks like a sitting lion. According to the Egyptian symbolization, the lion indicates the cosmic law. From the huge windows of the yoga hall you can face the immense Libyan sea and the elephant rock Ganesha. In Indian tradition God Ganesha is worshiped as the god of education, knowledge, wisdom, and wealth or known as lord of success.
Three daily vegetarian meals are included in the price. The food is organically produced, from the local gardens, well-cooked according to Mediterranean diet and is served with all the vitamins. Please let Yoga Retreats Crete-Greece know if you have any food allergy.
Please book your flights to Heraklion International Airport (HER). From Heraklion airport it is about one hour route to reach the retreat center. You can catch the local bus from Heraklion to Lentas village (bus ticket costs less than 10 EUR) or Yoga Retreats Crete-Greece can arrange a shared taxi for you at about 30 EUR per person.
