In a sea of 200-hour graduates, it is important to make yourself stand out from the crowd. More and more employers are searching for yoga teachers who have advanced level qualifications. We all know that when it comes to yoga, the learning never ends and by holding a 500-hour designation, you show yourself to be a teacher with a difference.
This course is a practical teacher training designed to deepen your own practice, hone your skills as a yoga teacher, and dive deeper in the yoga tradition. This advanced training program delivers 300 hours of higher level yoga training and these hours are added to your existing 200-hour certification, allowing you to become registered with Yoga Alliance as a RYT-500.
Accommodation is off-site in twin rooms with catering facilities and is perfectly situated, a 10- to 15-minute walk from the yoga center. The apartment block has a and pool and there are restaurants and a supermarket nearby. The apartment accommodates two people sharing one bedroom, with twin beds and its own sitting room and kitchen. All rooms have their own bathroom with shower facilities. Single rooms are also available.
During this advanced yoga teacher training, you will act in the role of a mature student, able to support and advise the less experienced trainees. You will therefore be working very closely with the instructor and thus acquire the practical pedagogic and psychological skills to guide students through stressful and pressurized situations.
The content of the course will be a further development and deepening of your understanding of the history, philosophy, and application of yoga in order to deepen your understanding of the different traditions of yoga and Ibiza Bija Yoga.
You will be expected to further explore the teachings of philosophy and the significance of the benefits of yoga in the framework of asana, Vinyasa, pranayama, and meditation practice. There will be a chance to recap the subjects covered in your previous courses and thus expand your knowledge on these and from a solid foundation.
You will also be expected to develop from simply taking in information to now displaying the skill of clearly and succinctly imparting it to others, as well as relating it back to and integrating it into the realm of asana teaching.
This course includes not only an intensive asana and meditation teaching experience, but also journaling, study of set texts, anatomy, and a thorough analysis of teaching methodology. The focus is on lesson planning for you to develop ways to create new and exciting class sequences.
Yoga Shala Ibiza is Yoga Alliance USA registered, which means on successful completion of this 300-hour advanced yoga teacher training course, you can join Yoga Alliance as a registered 500-hour teacher. Yoga Alliance is internationally recognized. Therefore, you will be able to teach anywhere in the world.
Jacqueline is a highly qualified yoga teacher and the founder of Yoga Shala Ibiza, a yoga teacher training and yoga holiday center in Ibiza. She is a British Wheel of Yoga (BWY) Foundation Course tutor and E-RYT 500 Yoga Alliance teacher. Jacqueline has taught yoga for many years all over the world, including training yoga teachers for over ten years in London and Ibiza. She is originally trained in Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga with the late Sri K Pattabhi Jois and Derek Ireland in India. She is also a qualified BWY and Yoga Alliance pregnancy yoga teacher.
Yoga Shala Ibiza runs Yoga Alliance Certified Yoga Teacher Training Programs in the beautiful natural setting of The Garden of Joy on the coast of the White Isle. The Garden of Joy is an eco-friendly yoga center, set in fabulous natural surroundings just outside Santa Eulalia and only a 15-20 minute drive from Ibiza Town.
It is just 5 minutes from a pebble beach and 10 minutes from a shallow sandy bay and has beautiful views of the nearby "Magic Mountain" and the sea. It also has an outside shaded yoga platform and a Bali hut fpr massage. As there is very little light pollution, the stars twinkle very brightly.
Although the focus is on yoga, while you are in Ibiza you can take the opportunity to experience aquatic sports, such as windsurfing and sub-aqua diving, in the beautiful clear sea, as well as hiking and horse-riding. It is very easy to commute around the island by bus and small ferries, and Yoga Shala Ibiza can provide local knowledge to help you find your way around Ibiza on your days off.

Taxi transfers from the airport to the retreat centre cost approximately 30 EUR each way.
It is not advised to incur additional expense by renting a car unless you need to. At Calla Llonga there is a ferry service connecting you with Ibiza town and taxis are available.
