Villa La Pena is a spacious and secluded luxury yoga retreat venue in Spain for up to 13 people with extensive grounds, 50 square meters yoga studio, 50 square meters outdoor yoga platform, massage room, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, air-conditioning, and Wi-Fi. Villa La Pena is a high-quality accommodation. It has seven bedroom suites, five en-suite and two with a shared bathroom, with it has a maximum capacity of 14 people.

More about the training

The training will amplify both your knowledge about and your practice of yoga, supplementing the unfolding of your spiritual path. The training is a combination of both theory and practice. You will be nourished by two daily Yoga practices, meditations, pranayama and the amazing energy of the unspoiled nature and surroundings. Private chefs will prepare three super healthy meals a day - delicious vegetarian, Mediterranean and Asian influenced meals.

You will be guided by professional and skillful yoga teachers who love to share their knowledge and passion for yoga with you.

After the week you will leave feeling recharged, empowered, balanced and confident in your teaching.

Yoga Sunshine offers Yin yoga teacher training, Yin & Yang training, workshops, and retreats within Europe (Spain, Switzerland, and Germany) and Asia (Goa, India) and has done for many years. Their partner in Spain is TFS Retreats are providers of yoga retreats, holidays, and luxury retreat venues.

The 50-hour Yin yoga course is held over one week from Saturday to Saturday, those days are arrival and departure days without any teaching programme. The course starts on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. with a welcome meeting followed by dinner. The programme finishes the following Saturday after breakfast at 11:00 a.m.

Practice

Daily morning practice: intense two-hour Yin Yoga class with different themes including meditation and pranayama. Yin yoga practice on the wall. Practice Yin yoga related to the meridians, stimulating the qi along the meridians.

Afternoon Yin yoga practice short sequences or student teaching 35 Yin yoga asanas in theory and practice, breakdown of each asana variations, modification and the use of props in each of the 35 asanas, three classes Yin and Yang "it's all about balance" an asana experience combining dynamic, creative Vinyasa flow, and deep opening and meditative Yin yoga.

How to get there

Arrival by airplane

There are many options to arrive at the venue, which is located approimately four kilometers away from Tarifa. There are four airports within two hours drive. Gibraltar, Jerez, Malaga, and Sevilla.

The nearest airport is Gibraltar (La Linea), which is a 40 minute drive to the venue, approximately 40 kilometers. Only flights from England come to Gibraltar.

  • Jerez Airport is an 80 minute drive away, approximately 120 kilometers.
  • Malaga Airport is a 110 minute drive away, approximately 160 kilometers.
  • Sevilla Airport is a 120 minute drive away, approximately 170 kilometers.

Arrival by car

Renting a car at the airport is the easiest and cheapest way to get to the venue, starting from 70 EUR per week.

Arrival by bus

Once a day, a subsidised shuttle bus runs from all airports and local bus stations on Saturdays.

Route 1

The bus leaves at 1.45 p.m. from Malaga Airport (60 EUR per person), at 3 p.m. from Gibraltar (35 EUR per person), at 3:30 p.m. from Algeciras Bus Station (15 EUR per person) and at 3:50 from Tarifa Town (5 EUR per person).

Route 2

The bus leaves at 2 p.m. rom Sevilla Airport (65 EUR per person) and at 2:45 p.m. from Jerez Airport (45 EUR per person). Please enquire for further details.

Arrival by bus

There is also a public bus option from Malaga Airport.
