This amazing center consists of two complexes of buildings. In the first one, you will find the cozy living room with its amazing view from the bay windows, the lovely dining room, the pergola (overlooking the surrounding mountains and on the horizon the sea) where the summer dining room lies, and the kitchen where delicious homemade meals are prepared. Most of the fruits and vegetables come from Noosfera’s own garden.

The lower level has the libraries, and the atmospheric wellbeing section where rejuvenation services for body and face are offered. In the guesthouse and seminar hall of the second building complex, there are ten elegant rooms all with private bathroom and equipped with mini fridges. The very beautifully appointed guest rooms are designed without phones or TVs in order to maximize time for quiet, peaceful reflection and renewal. They have been named after trees, herbs, and flowers, and are each decorated accordingly down to the last detail - soft pillows on the couch, orthopaedic mattresses, duvets and sheets of excellent quality. The yoga / seminar hall is light, airy, spacious, comfortable, and cool.

The owners, Maria and Julia, built this property for their own retreats, and this shows everywhere with their unique personal touch, from the hand painted keys and chairs to the careful consideration of feng shui throughout. Their belief is that the person who seeks peace, joy, and truth about themselves will also be inspired by the surrounding land, the beauty of the mountains and the sea on the horizon, but also by the tastefulness of the area itself.

All rooms have ensuite bathrooms, a mini fridge, and balcony with a mountain view. This is the most intensive and complete yoga therapy diploma in Europe. Uniquely this, 400 hours course includes 263 contact hours - 200 hours in the three weeks, and the rest spread over 12 months via 12 webinars and ongoing mentoring. The monthly webinars will be structured to follow up and deepen the knowledge shared in the summer training, as well as strengthening people's weaknesses that are highlighted from your assignments. The goal is to make you the best yoga therapists possible.

The Yoga Therapy Greece’s yoga therapy diploma follows the newest standards of the International Association of Yoga Therapists in terms of the methodology of Yoga Therapy, the Yoga Therapy Tools and Therapeutic Skills, the topics of the Curriculum, the Practicum, Mentoring, contact hours, Ethical Principles, etc.

A program where you as a yoga instructor, will learn everything you need to know about applying yoga tools in order to give yoga therapy.

Because this course is intensive (with further twelve-monthly webinars), you save on flights and accommodation going back and forth compared to other courses.

In the intensive yoga therapy training, Yoga Therapy Greece shares deep knowledge based on a unique combination of Viniyoga, Iyengar, Restorative Yoga, Yoga Nidra, Ayurveda, Physiotherapy, and Psychotherapy that enables yoga instructors to give yoga therapy sessions with safety and confidence as they are supported by ongoing supervision and mentoring.

The intensive yoga therapy training will enable yoga instructors to give one-to-one yoga therapy sessions to people with muscular imbalances, mental health problems, women’s health issues, as well as most of the medical conditions that they will probably encounter. Yoga Therapy Greece will share the methodology of one-to-one yoga sessions and what they do with any muscular imbalance and in medical conditions of the nervous, respiratory, cardiovascular, digestive, endocrine, and immune systems.

You will learn how to progressively work and develop yoga therapy practices for groups, as well as take away with you 15 to 20 benefit-proven yoga therapy sequences for groups/individuals, such as for lower back, knees, shoulders, neck, menopause, hypertension, asthma, depression, anxiety, constipation, fatigue, etc. You can then easily give your own workshops on these topics.

In these 22 days, you will discover how to build a therapeutic relationship, how to read different bodies, and how to build yoga therapy practices based on people’s goals and needs, incorporating all yoga models, such as postural and breathing observations, Ayurveda principles such as vayus, koshas, doshas, as well as Tantra elements, like mantras and mudras, as well as asanas and pranayamas and the way to modify and personalize them.

You will learn how to access and use the most recent research articles in order to use evidence-based practices that show how yoga therapy affects people’s health.

In every module, you will see yoga therapies taking place for some of you, and Yoga Therapy Greece will analyze the practices in order for you to be able to do the same with your clients. This is a great opportunity to experience yoga therapy and get your personal practice, too.

In yoga therapy training, you will be supported by your mentor through many personal online supervision in your first yoga therapies with your clients and case studies participants.

Yoga Therapy Greece gives equal importance to deep knowledge, a high standard of ethics, compassion, and mental stability.

The program

The intensive 400 hours yoga therapy training starts on Friday, July 10, 2020, and finishes on Sunday morning, August 2, 2020, after breakfast. It takes place for 20 days besides the two free days (Sunday, July 19 & Sunday, July 26), making it a total of 23 days with the arrival day.

It consists of 200 hours lectures and practices, 12 four-hour webinars, 15 hours of mentoring as feedback for the assignments, and direct guidance for the three case studies (of four sessions each, plus preparation time) with real clients of yours, personal study from a very in-depth manual and a well-chosen reading list as well as personal practice, assignments, and 100 hours practicum (documented practice with real clients).

Students in all programs are assigned mentors who give feedback about their assignments, guide them in the case studies and personal practice, and help them understand and apply many yoga therapy techniques.

During the training, the mentors will focus on each student’s personal, as well as professional development; they believe that the quality of the yoga therapy practitioner’s ability to achieve a profound level of self-awareness, presence, as well as deep knowledge in muscular imbalances, nervous system, women’s health, mental health, and medical conditions, are very important factors.

Course information

Minimum entry requirements: 200-hour yoga teacher training, such as a Yoga Alliance 200-hour registered school program (RYS 200) or equivalent, plus one year of teaching experience.

For legal reasons, Yoga Alliance does not accredit any yoga therapy studies.

You will need to have completed the 200 hours of a yoga teacher Training program in order to attend this course. If you are unsure, please get in touch with Yoga Therapy Greece.

Following the completion of the three-week intensive course in Greece, it takes about 12 months to complete the assignments, case studies, and webinars before you graduate and receive your diploma.

If you decide not to complete the assignments, case studies, and webinars, Yoga Therapy Greece can issue a certificate of attendance for 200 hours. However, they highly recommend that you complete all of the courses as the assignments, case studies, and practicum are a large part of the learning process, especially considering the mentoring that you will receive. You also will lose the possibility of using this 400-hour training as a foundation of your future training.

If you decide not to complete the 100-hour practicum, you will be issued 300 hours of certification.

The supervision takes place through emails and Skype. As soon as you send your first client's completed yoga therapy questionnaire, you will get an email with guidelines and then you will Skype, where your mentor will explain the rationale and establish practices together. In total, there are six private personal hours supporting you on your professional path as a yoga therapist in a one-to-one setting or in a group setting.

Upon completion, you may also use this training towards the 800-hour Certification by International Association of Yoga Therapy (inquire for more details about this option).

Upon completion of the 400-hour yoga therapy training, you can have your own private yoga therapy clinic and give one-to-one sessions or work with therapeutic groups. Some graduates also work in yoga studios or in a complementary capacity in healthcare centers, physiotherapy centers, and community centers in collaboration with homeopathic, physiotherapists, psychotherapists, nutritionists, etc. But you would have to check your countries specific requirements for certain healthcare jobs.

If you have to leave for some reason in the middle of the summer training, you are then welcome to join them the following year to complete your training. But unfortunately, Yoga Therapy Greece cannot refund the accommodation costs or tuition.

There are no further costs for the 12 months of assignments, webinars, and case studies once you have finished the three weeks in Greece. It means that you only have to travel abroad once and then all the backup, mentoring, and webinars are carried out on your computer.
