Barcelona Yoga Weeks retreat center was built in a big and beautiful modernistic house in the heart of Barcelona. The beauty of the space resides in staying in a Gaudi-style house from 1890. Please expect a beautiful, welcoming, clean, and peaceful guest-style house.
The center is located in a nice and quiet street, yet it is only minute’s walk away from the central Gothic neighborhood and a 10-minute walk away to the beach in Barcelona. The retreat center is one of the cataloged examples of the modernistic movement (Gaudi’s movement) and was built in the year 1890.
The building and the house have been conserved with all its magic features, such as colorful flooring, high and decorated ceilings, long and airy corridors, the iron works of the back facade, and smart distribution of the rooms, allowing all of them to have access to outdoor spaces, such as internal patios or balconies.
The venue has the first elevator installed in the city, also dated 1890, a magnificent example of woodwork and engineering for old high-class housing. The center can accommodate up to 10 guests at a time.
All rooms are spacious and carefully designed by one of the most creative and youngest design studios in Barcelona, PPT Interiors. The result is a welcoming, highly beautiful, and comfortable center to stay, relax, socialize, and practice yoga in. You will not find luxury; rather, find it in the simple, nice, clean, and very cozy furniture and decoration. You will be in a space that welcomes relaxation and a nice rest, promising a comfortable and social stay for your training.
The house has a total of three bathrooms. These are shared within the house and are cleaned daily, offering the nice comfort of feeling at home.
You will also have access to a fully equipped kitchen and your own storage to cook at night or on the weekends if you wish to do so.
The training will take place at the indoor shala located five minutes walk for high-quality teaching and atmosphere. The afternoon classes take place on the rooftop shala in the same centre building. The house has an airy yoga space with a chimney and a long wall to practice. They kept some of the beautiful old features, adding a modern touch.
A constant merge of old and new, keeping the best of the past yet always moving forward!
There is also an amazing rooftop located at the top of the building. A unique space equipped with changing rooms and amazing outdoor showers, to practice yoga whilst enjoying a great view, the sunrise and the sunset overlooking the city.
The house offers a beautiful gallery next to the patio, which brings natural light for guests to enjoy the practice and live in the city. The brunch/breakfast is served after the class in the gallery, where you will have a big breakfast table and sitting area.
There is also a beautiful and private outdoor patio with hammocks and showers where you can relax, sunbathe, and enjoy a chat.
These spaces will become your relaxing areas during the day, where you can hang out, relax, keep practicing with Yoga Weeks' yoga trapeze and mats, socialize, or enjoy one of their additional treatments.

Ana started her holistic journey after moving back to Barcelona and working in a very fast-paced environment, with long hours and stress involved. Yoga became then part of her life, to find a better balance. After many years of practicing yoga, she decided to leave the corporate world for a different, more fulfilling work and life.
Mar began practicing yoga 10 years ago. She found Ashtanga yoga that gave her discipline and changed completely her life so she dived into the knowledge of the practice and became a 500-hour Ashtanga teacher. She does also have extensive studies about the Chakras.
After studying and working as a pharmacist for years, Audrey had a Dharma call. She changed her path to share the Yoga practice and lifestyle. She practiced and studied extensively over the years and shared it with her teachers and students. She is forever grateful for all the paths walked so far. Many years of teaching have allowed her to read bodies, to understand her students' practices. She likes to offer classes in a dynamic way, working the body and the breath little by little observing how the mind calms down.
