Led by Patrycja, Yogagati founder, and lead teacher, you will emerge from this course having experienced why yoga is a way of life, not just a form of exercise. Drawing upon more than ten years of teaching experience, Patrycja, supported by guest teachers, will guide you to the intensive and spiritual teachings and practices of yoga so that you gain the skills and experience to start teaching professionally.

Even if you are not interested in teaching yoga, you can simply learn how to lead a healthier and more fulfilling life while being motivated to deepen your practice and knowledge. The class size is limited to 18-students so you will receive more individual feedback and opportunities for questions.

What sets the Yogagati training program apart from other courses is their commitment to leaving behind the one-size-fits-all approach and instead creating a respectful, stimulating, and relaxed learning environment that ensures every individual is heard and supported. Students emerge from the Yogagati course with a solid foundation ready to begin their yoga instructor career.


The course is taught over three-weeks, ideal for those with limited time and want to obtain a full certification or just deepen their personal practice. You don’t have to be flexible or be able to stand on your head, it is more important that you have a willingness to learn.

The number one prerequisite is that you join the course with an open mind and heart and be receptive to the teachers and course content. The program is structured to support participants of all levels, including beginners. Applicants, however, must be in good health both physically and mentally.

Yogagati curriculum and teacher training courses are Yoga Alliance accredited. Upon completion of this program, you will be awarded a certificate that will allow you to register with Yoga Alliance. This registration enhances your credibility as a yoga professional since their designations are the premier forms of recognition for yoga teachers wanting to teach worldwide.

Flow with the breath

During this yoga teacher training practical lessons are delivered in Vinyasa flow in the morning and gentle Yin in the afternoon. The breath guides the movement, the movement guides the breath, and everything else falls into place in between your inhalations and exhalations. You will flow through sequences of asanas offering strength, stamina, and flexibility free of any pushing or forcing.

No forcing

The Yogagati motto is: 'Don’t fight your poses'. The aim of any yoga practice is not the end result but the process you go through to get there. It is the journey and not the destination that is most revealing. You are invited to look, listen, feel, and be present in that process. You will be led to progress and experience growth within your skeletal structure, suppleness, muscular strength, and of course, to experience the pure joy of being present in your practice.

Find good health

No matter how physical or meditative a pose can get, you will aim for the same result at the end of each class - a strong body, relaxed mind, balanced nervous and endocrine system, and massaged internal organs, all of which helps release tensions and toxins and promotes longevity and overall good health.

Discover your true self

When the internal and external bodies are in a state of balance and unity, relaxation, happiness, and spiritual awakening becomes attainable. Your body and mind are detached from tension and your soul is set free. And that is where the magic happens. How far you take it is up to you!

Teachings and practice


During asana clinic, you will examine 80-poses (Vinyasa and Yin style postures) from the study manual. Asanas will be explored through their alignment points. You will consider commonly made errors and the variations to simplify or intensify the pose. Adjustments, modifications, as well as the use of props, will be covered in this module.


The art of breathing. You will learn, practice, and teach different types of breaths with their techniques and functions. To name a few, you will explore Kapalabhati (cleansing breath), Nadi shodana (alternate nostril breathing), Bhramari (humming bee), Ujjayi (victorious breath), Shitali, and Sitkari (cooling breath).

There will be a discussion on the benefits and contraindications of each breath and using these techniques as a separate practice as well as their place within asana practice. You will also explore different types of vayus (prana flow), how to engage and use three main yogic locks, called the bandhas.


Various meditation techniques will be taught and practiced, in both walking and sitting settings. Exploration of the concept and understanding of samadhi and mindfulness, as well as mantras, chanting, and the tradition and meaning of mudras.

Teaching methodology

Yogagati believes that the best way to teach methodology is through instruction. They will take a hands-on approach rather than a lecture style class and will cover the following, primarily but not exclusively:


The ability to effectively communicate and connect with class participants is one of the key aspects of a successful teacher. You will be guided to discover your unique teaching style and investigate different aspects of language such as the passive and active voice, speed, and selection of vocabulary. Your teachers will teach you how to create, through your communication, a trusting and safe environment in which to practice.

Planning and sequencing

As a yoga instructor, it is vital that you are able to plan and sequence your classes according to different needs, be it age, physical limitation, or injury. The Yogagati yoga teacher training will prepare you to teach a wide spectrum of people. The teachers will also work with you to determine how to teach in your preferred style and show you the principles of demonstration and observation, how to safely adjust asanas, and how to use modifications and corrections so that you can offer your classes to a broad audience and allow participants to practice safely.


To become a teacher and to excel in the yoga teacher training course you must physically practice the art of teaching. In this unit, you will learn how to teach by:

  • Observing experienced teachers and fellow trainees, receiving, and giving feedback
  • Teaching individual poses, mini-sequences, sun salutation, and full themed yoga classes
  • Practising teaching for all levels by using the art of modifications and smart sequencing

Anatomy and physiology

You will primarily focus on understanding the body’s mechanisms taking a holistic approach. This unit will involve taking a look at the basic mechanisms of your skeletal, muscular, endocrine, respiratory, digestive, and nervous systems, without bypassing the importance of joints and connective tissue within the body. You will also cover the most common postural problems and misalignments. A study of subtle energy bodies including chakras, meridians, koshas, and how they relate and interact with the physical body, will also be included.

Philosophy and ethics

The following concepts will be looked at in a discussion style format, where you will explore:

  • Traditional yogic texts: Yoga sutras of Patanjali and Bhagavad Gita
  • The traditional yogic notions of Dharma-Karma and Yamas-Niyamas will be analyzed as to how they fit into our fast-paced modern world
  • The concept of teaching yoga as a service and being of service to others
  • The ethics and lifestyle of a yoga teacher and practitioner, the importance of nutrition, on-going process of self-awareness, and the evolution of self

Typical daily schedule

  • 07:00 - 09:30 Morning Vinyasa practice with meditation, pranayama, and asana
  • 09:30 - 11:00 Healthy brunch plus break
  • 11:00 - 13:30 Training session on philosophy, asana clinic, and adjustments
  • 13:30 - 15:00 Free time for self-study, reflection, or pool time
  • 15:00 - 17:00 Training session on asana clinic and practice teaching
  • 17:00 - 18:30 Evening Yin practice including asana and Nidra yoga for improved sleep
  • 18:00 - 19:00 Healthy buffet dinner

How to get there

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Samui International Airport (USM).

  • The most direct way to get to Koh Phangan is to fly from Bangkok to Koh Samui Island with Bangkok Air. Thai Air also flies to Koh Samui so check out their offers too.
  • When already in Koh Samui Airport, take a taxi to bring you to Nathon Pier to take your ferry to Koh Phangan.
  • Once you reach Koh Phangan, you tell the taxi to take you to the Yogahouse.
