You will be staying in Kosta Maria, a boutique family hotel outside the village center, situated on top of the cliff with a breathtaking view of the ocean on one side and the beautiful pool and garden on the other.
The family hotel offers a variety of room options, offering 2 beds, 3 beds and 4 beds. The rooms are comfortable and spacious and all have ocean views. They include air-conditioning, free Wi-Fi, hot water, a closet and a kitchen.
The brand new yoga shalas offers the same ocean view is in the premises as well as the restaurant. There is a bar along the pool and a big garden to relax and rest in. Following the path from the hotel there is a private beach, a small oasis just 5 minutes walking distance from the rooms.
The village center is approximately 15 minutes walking distance from the hotel. There will be arranged transportation to the center and back by the hotel as well as the possibility to rent bikes and bicycles.

YogaUnion has been delivering yoga teacher training courses, based on Ashtanga Vinyasa flow, an internationally accredited program with Yoga Alliance, for over a decade now.
Enchanted by their experiences in Bali and India, Ourania and Spyros, the founders of YogaUnion, decided to call Palairos their new yoga home, bringing their experiences from their permanent home in Ubud (the cultural and yogic capital of Bali), all the way to their birthplace in Greece.
YogaUnion is currently running a 200-hour Vinyasa training, a unique and authentic course, open to those who want to become yoga teachers, or simply deepen their practice. YogaUnion shala is located on a cliff, surrounded by Greek olive trees and botanical herbs, overlooking the endless blue waters of the Ionian Sea - which makes this experience even more magical!
Based on thousands of hours of experience from all over the world, Ourania and Spyros carefully created and shaped the course to deliver the most educational, life-changing experience. The training is designed to challenge and develop individuals at all levels. This 200-hour course specializes in Vinyasa Ashtanga yoga, with a strong focus on the breath and how to combine it with movement.
With a focus on:
Daily, mornings will begin with an hour of pranayama, meditation, and mantra chanting, followed by a Vinyasa flow class.
Early afternoons will be spent learning asana alignment, adjustments and teaching methodology. You will dive into the theoretical part, studying yoga philosophy or anatomy (alternating days).
The afternoon lessons will be focused on restorative styles of yoga such as Yin, Hatha, and Nidra, and specialized workshops.
You will have 1 day off per week, usually Sundays, where you get to relax, study and enjoy the surroundings.
Prana – breath, Yama – control – in accordance with the great yogis, breath equals to energy flow.
Every morning will begin with pranayama classes, where you will have the chance to get grounded, look inwards and set intention and energy for the day ahead. You will practice your breath and gain conscious awareness of your body.

The approach to the traditional style of Vinyasa and Ashtanga, enhanced and refined with the newfound knowledge and information they are blessed to have learnt from years of exploration and practice. This class focuses on analyzing and dissecting basic and advanced postures. You’ll learn the correct alignment based on the traditional approach and in line with body mechanics, understand how to offer hands-on adjustments and how to structure them in a Vinyasa class. The teachers will always be present in your practice, observing and providing feedback.

You will take a deep dive into the understanding of the human body in today’s modern world, with a focus on the nervous, skeletal and muscular systems. You will gain a deep understanding of how these systems work in harmony to create movement and gain the ability to articulate this through your yoga practice, teaching and everyday life.
This class is delivered in a conversational setting. Over the years, they have been able to master the delivery of complex concepts in a fun, interactive and intuitive way.

You will travel back in time to India and dive deep into the origins of yoga and how it reached today’s modern form. Focusing on philosophical concepts, you will learn how to adapt and apply them to modern lives. These lessons are held in a conversational format, which enables students to actively engage and explore meanings through their own vision and stories.

They believe that you begin teaching from the moment you enter the shala. They aim for the lessons to be confidence-building and progressive. You’ll start with one-to-one lessons and gradually move to bigger groups of students, eventually delivering a 30-minute class to your fellow yogis. Through regular feedback by teachers and fellow students, you will have a chance to improve as you go along and find your your unique voice and style as a teacher.

The afternoon classes will serve to introduce the students to various styles of yoga, in addition to core course specification. Alternating, you will take part in restorative practice and themed workshops.
Restorative
To compliment your morning dynamic Yang practice, the afternoons will focus on Yin practice. The classes will feature Yin yoga, yoga Nidra, Restorative, Gentle Hatha.
Workshops
Asana-related, these workshops will cover handstands, hip openers, fun modules like partner yoga and spiritual immersions such as cacao ceremonies, ecstatic dance, eye gazing and bhakti.
Teaching - As part of your final examination, you will be required to deliver a 30-minute Vinyasa flow class to your fellow yogis.
Written examination - The course will end with a 3-hour written examination focused on asana analysis, philosophy and anatomy.
Diploma - Successful graduates of the course receive an internationally recognized certification by the Yoga Alliance for the 200 hours standard for Registered Yoga Schools (RYS).
Ourania was once a successful architect working in Florence who decided to follow her passion and devote herself to yoga. She started practicing with Giovanni Formisano in 1996 and completed her first four-year teacher training in Hatha yoga. Since then, she has accumulated thousands of hours following inspiring teachers in TTCs, seminars, and workshops all over the world, including her beloved India which she still visits every year. Since 2010, she has been running with success at an international teacher training school, which now calls Bali home.
Laila (RYT 200 and YACEP) is a yoga student and teacher who decided to quit her desk job, a corporate life, and focus on her health, wellness and peace of mind. She is fascinated and inspired by the human body, structure and movement, and she has been reading about and practicing yoga for 7 years. She realized that this is what she wants to do every day for the rest of her life. It's her passion. She is a strong believer in harmony and mindfulness, and yoga helped her in connecting her breath with her movement, as well as linking her body, mind and soul, to better harmonize with the universe.
Ippoliti Milioni's yoga journey started in 2010. At the time she was searching for something that would help her get rid of the anxiety and the pressure of corporate work. Her daily practice made her seek something beyond physical exercise. That is how she started her first yoga training. Ippoliti creates a safe and comfortable space to release physical and emotional tension that allows for true healing to begin. Her classes help you bring mindfulness to your daily life, encourage you to explore your limits, and give you a deep understanding of your yoga practice.
After working as a veterinarian in Germany for more than 6 years, Mareen quit her job, followed her passion for yoga, and did her first Hatha yoga training in 2018. Since then, she also completed various training in Yin yoga and the 200 hours of Vinyasa yoga training with YogaUnion in 2019 - and she never left Bali after! Mareen has been teaching on- and offline for 3 years now. She loves to blend her knowledge into her own way of teaching and combines a focus on correct alignment with creative sequencing. She is passionate about sharing her love for yoga.
After years of teaching ancient and modern Greek literature, Faye has decided to fully dedicate her time to her yogic journey. Having completed her first training in India she has practiced several types of yoga and started teaching. She loves to share her passion for breathing through movement and encourages her students to create their own style and explore their potential through practice. Ashtanga and Vinyasa yoga are her favorite physical tools, but she also adores Yin yoga and yoga Nidra. She believes that yoga is for everybody and tries her best to make practice accessible to everyone.
Coming from a background of 20 years of ballet and contemporary dance training, Rachel has always been interested in working with the body and the amazing capacity bodies have. Rachel has been practicing yoga for 14 years and has taught over 5000+ hours of yoga classes and teacher training. Originally from the U.S.A., she has been a lead teacher in over 30 yoga teacher training courses worldwide and in recent years split her time teaching yoga between India and Albania. Rachel is the co-founder, owner, and main teacher at Tirana Yoga studio in Tirana.
Eleni Chantzara is a 200-hour registered yoga teacher and her journey to yoga in 2009. She had understood the treasures that were lying under that magical technique and philosophy very early on, and the practice became part of her daily life. She has been teaching yoga for ten years as she loves people, and pays great importance to the connection that happens in a yoga class. She has been with meetings and workshops with many experienced teachers from all over the world. Her goal is teaching to achieve a soft, compassionate heart and a strong body.
The retreat will be held in Palairos, Greece. Palairos is a seaside village close to Lefkada island that allows you to come in close contact with a rustic and traditional way of life. It is only 20 minutes from Lefkada, one of the most famous Greek islands with amazing beaches such as Porto Katsiki beach and Kathisma beach. This location is highly recommended to those who want to discover the beauty of a simple and authentic lifestyle in Greece.
Away from urban distractions, you will find traditional tavernas, freshly baked bread from family-owned bakeries and an abundance of fresh fruits on local trees that you can grab on your way to the yoga shala. Moreover, a short drive away you can explore some of the most beautiful beaches in the area. The accommodation is only 21 kilometers away from the Aktion Airport and a few minutes distance from cafes, restaurants, yacht club and tourist attractions.
This course includes daily vegetarian breakfast, light lunch (salad and one plate) and dinner buffets, from Mondays to Saturdays. Sundays are days off, and only breakfast will be provided then.

Lefkada is very close and can be reached by car should you want to visit the most breathtaking beaches in all of Greece, famous for the turquoise waters and white, silvery sands.
Private boat sailing can also be arranged, exploring the islands around Palairos and diving in the crystal waters with the dolphins.
Among the activities available (depending on the weather) are also snorkeling and scuba diving, trekking, cooking, and botanology lessons, visiting thermal springs, and arrangement of daily trips.

There is a bus service available (X93), leading from Athens International Airport towards Kifissos Bus Terminal. From Kifissos there are two routes, either towards Lefkada or towards Vonitsa. The journey time is approximately 5 hours and you will need to grab a taxi to the venue once you arrive.
