Pre-application requirements
While prior yoga experience is beneficial, the training is open to all levels. Both beginners and advanced practitioners will gain valuable insights, experience personal growth, and acquire the skills necessary to confidently teach yoga. You will also need stable internet connection and Zoom account.
Certifications
Students who complete their training are eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT®).
How the training works
The program includes a self-paced course on Mighty Networks and four live Zoom calls on four Saturdays with the creators of School Yoga Institute’s trauma-informed programming, Jeanine Talento and Brooke Alexander. There will be one live Zoom call at the beginning of the course, two throughout the course, and one at the end of the course. Attending all four live Zoom calls is highly recommended to get the most out of this self-paced course and for certificate requirements. These sessions are specifically designed for integration, community building, and Q&A.
Upon admission to the program, you will be granted a personalized account on School Yoga Institute’s Mighty Networks platform and will have free access to the totality of what they offer as a yoga school throughout the duration of your training. Part of the graduation requirements for this course are to participate in ten live classes on Mighty Networks. This can be daily asana classes, meditation classes, etc, that they offer.

Summer training: June 13 - September 12, 2026

Course information
The live calls intend to uphold the structure and due dates of the course while also cultivating community amidst the other individuals pursuing self-paced yoga teacher training alongside you. The intention of creating this pre-recorded trauma-informed 200-hour yoga teacher training is to create an international community of trauma-informed somatic practitioners without time zones, travel costs, or scheduling getting in the way.
- Live call 1: Community introductions, overview of the course, go over certification expectations and requirements. Access to the course on Mighty Networks will officially be granted after this opening session.
- Live call 2: Check-in and Q&A. Expectation is for module 1 to be completed in Mighty Networks.
- Live call 3: Check-in and Q&A. Expectation is to have completed module 2 in Mighty Networks.
- Live call 4: Peer teaching, graduation, and closing. Expectation is for Modules 3 and 4 to be completed in Mighty Networks, as well as all graduation requirements submitted.
Curriculum
This online trauma-informed yoga teacher training will weave through four cycles: stabilize, metabolize, visualize, and alchemize. The intention for the flow of this program is to invite students into a deeply reflective space of self-confrontation and then to empower them to excavate their wounds into their wisdom and their pain into their purpose through service. Instructeurs
Jeanine Talento
Jeanine maakte in 2006 kennis met de helende voordelen van yoga en besloot in 2013 leraar te worden. Ze studeerde voor haar 200-urige docentenopleiding aan de School Yoga Institute in Savusavu, Fiji, waar ze verliefd werd op zowel reizen als lesgeven. Jeanine voltooide haar 500-urige geavanceerde professionele docentenopleiding in Prana Yoga Centre in La Jolla, CA. Ze is ook een gecertificeerde integratieve life coach en heeft een passie voor Embodied Cognition, Trauma Informed yoga, yoga voor angst en depressie en yoga voor jongeren.
Brooke Alexander
Brooke is a Trauma-Informed Yoga Teacher, a Transformational Group Facilitator, and an Integrative Health & Well-Being Coach. She completed her first 200-hour yoga teacher training with School Yoga Institute in Bali in 2017 and completed her 300-Hour Yoga Teacher Training in Yoga Psychology with Ashley Turner. Over the years, she has invested in many hours of trauma-informed trainings, including yoga for addiction, anxiety, depression, and disordered eating. She is currently enrolled in a year long graduate level program with Dr. Gabor Mate.
