A YTT founded in yoga philosophy

This 200-hour intensive yoga teacher training in beautiful Ohrid is designed as a deep immersion into the essence of yoga. Over the course of the time together, you will be invited to step away from everyday distractions and fully dedicate yourself to practice, study, and self-discovery.

At the heart of this training lies yoga philosophy, which Art of Yoga believes is the foundation of all physical practice. You will explore the eight limbs of yoga, dive into the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, touch upon yoga history, and connect timeless teachings with the modern path of self-awareness.

Alongside philosophy, you will experience and embody traditional practices such as pranayama, asanas, meditation, and mantra, while also learning modern tools for self-study, self-reflection, and conscious movement. Together Art of Yoga will guide you in developing your own daily sadhana, as they believe true transformation happens through consistent personal practice — it is in your sadhana that the magic of yoga truly unfolds.

This training is not only about learning to teach yoga. It is an invitation to explore your inner landscape, to connect with your unique life purpose — your dharma — and to step into your most authentic self.

Whether your dream is to become a certified yoga teacher or you simply wish to deepen your physical, mental, and spiritual journey, this intensive training is for you. Come prepared to be challenged, supported, and inspired on a transformative path of growth and discovery.

Plan

This teacher training is designed to create a balance between yin and yang. Therefore, Art of Yoga teaches both energizing Yang yoga (the focus is on Ashtanga and Vinyasa) and grounding Yin yoga.

Yoga technique

Art of Yoga will teach you about yoga techniques through philosophy, theory, and practical exercises. The techniques include:

  • Asanas
  • Pranayama
  • Chanting
  • Mantra
  • Meditation

It is important to Art of Yoga that you both learn and understand each technique, as well as knowing how to develop your own sadhana practice and teach others.

Asana

You will study the asanas in depth, and you will learn how to teach both advanced students and students who are completely new to yoga. You will learn about benefits, contraindications, adjustments, as well as how you create a yoga sequence.

Pranayama

Throughout the training, Art of Yoga will share several breathing techniques with you. They will educate you about the benefits of pranayama, as well as how you integrate pranayama into your teaching. Among others, you will look at nadi shodhana, kapalabhati, ujjayi, and anuloma viloma.

Kriyas

You will also touch upon kriyas. Among others, you will look at how to practise jal neti, kapalabhati, and agni sara. Art of Yoga will talk about the benefits of these practices, as well as how to integrate them into your sadhana practice.

Chanting and mantra

Chanting and mantras are important parts of yoga, and there are countless mantras. You will look at several different mantras, and you will talk about the importance of both mantras and chanting.

Meditation

Meditation is an essential part of every yoga practice. In fact, many yogis believe that meditation is the most important part of a yoga practice. Therefore, you will talk about the importance of meditation and having a sitting practice. You will look at the benefits of meditation as well as how you integrate meditation into your yoga classes, and how to develop your own meditation practice.

Teaching

Art of Yoga will provide you with the necessary skills in order to teach yoga and share your own practice with others. They will share how to demonstrate asanas, how to observe students, and how to use both verbal and hands-on adjustments in your teaching.

Art of Yoga will also look at how you best communicate through language, choice of words, and voice. Together you will practise how you actually teach a class, and you will also learn how to meet every student’s needs. Furthermore, you will talk about the relationship between teacher and student as well as ethics.

During the training, you will also observe your fellow students teach and teach yourself. In fact, you will start teaching from day one, so you have plenty of opportunity to practise teaching in a safe and loving environment.

Lastly, Art of Yoga will look at how you actually start teaching. You will talk about yoga as a business, how to establish yourself as a yoga teacher, how to use social media for marketing, and more.

Anatomy and physiology

You will learn about basic anatomy. Among other things, Art of Yoga will teach you about the human skeleton, muscles, and the nervous systems, as well as how these are used and affected while practising yoga. They will also go over the cardiovascular system, the digestive system, and Ayurveda. Your anatomy classes also include classes about physiology, chakras, koshas, nadis, and vayus.

Yoga philosophy, lifestyle and ethics for yoga teachers

As mentioned, yoga philosophy is very important to us. It is of the utmost importance that you get an in-depth understanding of how yoga is a lifestyle, and how to practise yoga off the mat. You will go over the foundational yoga philosophies and texts, including the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, the Bhagavad Gita, the Upanishads, and Hatha Yoga Pradipika.

Exam

Your 200-hour YTT will end with both an oral and written exam, where you will teach in front of your fellow students.

Daily schedule

This yoga teacher training is designed as a fully immersive daily experience, where each day follows a structured rhythm to support your physical practice, learning, and inner transformation. From early morning until evening, you will be guided through a balance of movement, theory, and self-reflection.

Each day begins with a morning sadhana, where you’ll practice asana, pranayama, and meditation to awaken your body and mind and set the tone for the day ahead.

  • 07:00 – 09:00 Morning sadhana (asana, breathwork, meditation)
  • 09:00 – 10:00 Breakfast and time to rest

After breakfast, the focus shifts to deepening your understanding of yoga philosophy, where you’ll explore the Yoga Sutras, the eight limbs of yoga, and how to apply these teachings in modern life.

  • 10:00 – 12:00 Yoga philosophy and theory

Midday sessions are dedicated to anatomy and body awareness, helping you understand how the body moves and how to practice and teach safely.

  • 12:00 – 13:30 Anatomy, energetic anatomy, and physiology
  • 13:30 – 15:00 Lunch break and time to relax

In the afternoon, you’ll focus on teaching methodology and practice, where you’ll learn sequencing, adjustments, and begin building confidence by teaching early on in the training.

  • 15:00 – 17:00 Teaching practice, sequencing, and methodology

The day gently transitions into more introspective practices, allowing you to integrate everything you’ve learned.

  • 17:30 – 19:00 Meditation, reflection, or restorative practice
  • 19:00 – 20:30 Dinner and free time

Throughout the training, this daily rhythm creates a powerful balance between Yang (active practice) and Yin (rest, integration, and reflection), supporting deep transformation on all levels.

In addition to the daily schedule, you will also experience:

  • Workshops on pranayama, mantra, meditation, and yogic techniques
  • Practice teaching with feedback in a safe and supportive environment
  • Group discussions and self-reflection exercises
  • Ceremonies and special moments that deepen your connection to the practice

Each day builds upon the last, guiding you step by step toward greater confidence, clarity, and embodiment of yoga, not just as something you practice, but as a way of living.
