Overview

Yin yoga has a deeply healing effect, by bringing the focus more inwards. With appropriate sequences, you can rebalance the major imbalances in the body, the emotional blockages, the lack of energy and trust, and fears can all be nurtured through a Yin yoga practice. Yin yoga is based on traditional Chinese medicine, and therefore, intensively works with meridians, targeting the organs and balancing the five elements: Water, wood, fire, earth, and metal. During this training, you will understand how Yin postures can be beneficial for you and how to teach them effectively to others. It is a process of feeling deeply and re-patterning your system to its optimal potential.

The 30-hour Yin yoga level II teacher training is an intensive training course that will give you a proper understanding of practicing and teaching Yin yoga on a deeper level, including myofascial release techniques and practices to regulate the nervous system. This is a level II Yin yoga teacher training course directed to students who have already attended a Yin yoga level I and already have knowledge of what Yin yoga is about. To join, it is necessary to have a basic knowledge of Yin yoga (what it is about, TCM meridians, and yoga poses). Yin yoga is rapidly becoming a popular yoga style, perhaps because every day "Yang" lifestyle is so exhausting that you all naturally need to bring your focus more inwards, going more "yinside."

The focus of Yin yoga is on the rejuvenation of the physical and mental body, by maintaining a certain set of asanas for three to five minutes and allowing to apply gentle tension and compression to your tissues. The practice can be an excellent bridge towards meditation or can be a meditation itself. Yin yoga teaches you to be with what is, and when you let go of resistance, sometimes by releasing physical, mental, or emotional baggage, your lives become more fluid and easeful.

Course syllabus

  • 1. The importance of fascia - anatomy aspects and the correlation between fascia and emotions
  • 2. Myofascial release techniques - both lecture and practice

  • 5. How to structure a Yin and Yang yoga sequence

There will also be a focus on different breathwork techniques and a special cacao ceremony and sound healing event.
