Certifications

The course/hours count as Continuing Education hours for Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT®) only.

What is Yin yoga?

Yin yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga that involves holding passive floor poses for extended periods, typically ranging from one to five minutes or more. Unlike more dynamic yoga styles, which focus on building strength and flexibility through continuous movement and muscle engagement, Yin yoga targets the deeper connective tissues of the body, such as ligaments, joints, and fascia.

Yin yoga has its roots in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Taoist philosophy. It integrates concepts of Yin and Yang, where Yin represents stillness, coolness, and passivity, while Yang represents movement, warmth, and activity. Yin yoga aims to balance the body's energy by providing a counterbalance to the more dynamic (Yang) practices and aspects of life.

Who is this for?

Modern practice and ancient wisdom for all levels.

  • Anyone interested in learning about the modern practice of Yin yoga and the ancient wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
  • Anyone wanting to deepen their knowledge of anatomy and explore Eastern medicine.
  • Anyone looking to incorporate more therapeutic yoga teaching skills into an already existing teaching foundation in yoga.
  • This course is also completely suited for beginners and experienced practitioners and teachers alike.

Why is this for you?

Take control of your physical, emotional, and mental well-being.

  • A deeper understanding of Traditional Chinese Medicine history, philosophy, and meridian theory, as well as its knowledge use and applications in Yin yoga practice.
  • A comprehensive method of how to approach and teach Yin yoga.
  • A broader perspective on adapting Yin yoga shapes for all body types and bio-individuality.
  • Therapeutic tools for self-healing the body, the mind, and the heart and soul.
  • Deepening the journey to the self and the practice of self-awareness.

What will you gain?

Become a confident Yin yoga practitioner and teacher

  • An understanding of Yin yoga from an anatomical point of view (muscles, joints, connective tissues, and the nervous system).
  • Exposure to complementary practices like meditation, breathwork, acupressure, and yoga Nidra.
  • Become confident with the practice and theory of Yin yoga, as well as how to apply this knowledge to comfortably teach Yin yoga independently.
  • Time and space to slow down and calibrate your internal processes and mental-emotional mechanisms.

Why combine these modalities?

Reconnect with yourself, nature, and a supportive community.

  • Combining these practices and theories not only creates a holistic approach to health and well-being by addressing the body, mind, and energy flow, but it also returns you to the rhythms of nature, bringing you closer to your true selves.
  • Acupressure stimulates specific points to release tension and improve Qi (energy) circulation, while Yin yoga gently stretches connective tissues and promotes relaxation.
  • TCM principles guide the practice, ensuring balance and harmony within the body's systems.
  • Together, these modalities reduce stress, enhance vitality, and support long-term wellness by aligning physical, emotional, and energetic health.
