Almost everybody sits on the mat on day one and questions whether or not they have it in them to become teachers. What has struck Mariza most profoundly during past teacher training courses is the ability and willingness for complete transformation.
The accommodation is in a renovated heritage building located 10 minutes away from downtown Chamonix. Built for the Olympic games in 1924, the Gare des Glaciers was the first cable car station at the Aiguille du Midi. Located in the Plerins area, you have a unique view of Mont Blanc, the glacier, and the surrounding summits. The chalet has five rooms, a studio, and a multi-purpose hall with a view of Mont Blanc, with a capacity for up to 22 people.
Students who complete their training are eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT®).
My Yoga People watches people blossom before their eyes, inhabit a space they had not previously thought possible, and draw on incredible reserves of resilience to keep growing, keep learning, and strive to do the very best they can. The Mariza Yoga team is delighted to offer a new 200-hour Yin Yang yoga training at the gorgeous Gare des Glaciers in Chamonix Mont Blanc.
The focus of this unique training is twofold, as a pass will leave you a qualified Vinyasa yoga teacher with the added benefit of two days of instruction in Yin yoga and how to integrate the Yin concepts into a regular Vinyasa class. Devised with and facilitated by Manon Charon, they have come together to offer an inspiring and in-depth training program designed to advance both your teaching skills and personal practice in Vinyasa and Yin yoga styles.
Now hugely popular the world over, Yin yoga has a unique and profound effect on the body, encouraging mobility, flexibility, and inner stillness. Vinyasa yoga continues to be one of the world's leading styles of yoga found in studios today. Together, through continuous practice, and in-depth theory lessons, they create space for self-enquiry, connection, and healing.
Run over 21 days, this course aims to deliver practical skills in teaching both Vinyasa and Yin yoga and how to incorporate elements of Yin into regular Vinyasa classes. They request that each student show up willing to grow, change, and be open to the possibility of finding one's true dharma or purpose in life. A complete, take-home training manual will be provided. You are required to bring your own yoga mats and a strap to the course.
Mariza is an RYT under Yoga Alliance. She tries to keep her classes honest. She holds her spirituality within her. If you have a question to ask, she will always make time to answer and if she does not know the answer, she'll tell you that too. Mariza practiced Iyengar, Ashtanga, and Jivamukti and then trained as a gait therapist, her practice is a fusion of all these elements. She plays music in class and tries to make things as fun as possible. She has no fixed ideas on what yoga is or should be.
All meals are at your own expense.
In town, there are supermarkets, nice shops, and many nice restaurants, where you can try traditional Savoyard food. There are two spas in town to pamper yourself, and there is a very beautiful one in Italy, going through the tunnel, called Pres Saint Didier, which calls for a day trip to that location. For the most adventurous, when the weather allows, there is paragliding too.
Chamonix is a mountain town, so most activities involve going into the mountains. There are lots of nice walks and hikes to do, mountain biking, and climbing. Trips to the mountains with a local guide can be arranged upon request at your own expense. There is also the Aiguille du midi lift in town, a 3842-meter peak in the Mont Blanc massif of the French Alps.
This is the closest you can get to the summit of Mont-Blanc without hiking or climbing. The ticket to this tour includes a pass to the step into the void, where you can have a perfect view of the Alps. Located nearby is the tunnel that connects Chamonix in France with Courmayeur in Italy, which is a great destination for a day trip.
