About the program
Learn the depths of classical Tantra yoga in a traditional ashram, setting yoga as much more than asana, it is a lifestyle, and Shanti Yoga Ashram wants to prepare students who can live yoga, not just do yoga. They are confident that the experience will not only prepare you to teach yoga, but give you all the tools you need to maintain a harmonious balance in your daily life.
At Shanti Yoga Ashram, you will learn directly from the guru himself along with their experienced teachers. They have a family atmosphere where your learning experience is very personal and hands-on. Your teachers are approachable and open to questions. The surroundings are clean and green, an ideal environment for yoga practice, and spiritual cultivation.
During this training course, you will learn in depth multiple aspects of yoga, both practical and philosophical. Through Hatha yoga, you will learn shatkarma techniques, how to cleanse the body to open the energy channels, followed by asana, pranayama, mudra, and bhanda so that the prana can flow. This will lead you to Ashtanga yoga to control the mind through meditation. By the practice of Mantra yoga, you will learn how to activate the dormant energy.
Then Kundalini yoga will take you to the next level, how to unlock this vital energy, and use it for awakening the chakras and higher levels of consciousness. You will be empowered to share this knowledge and gain the confidence to give the experience of yoga to others through these teachings. You will be ready to teach students of different levels for therapeutic purposes or to awaken their spiritual consciousness.
The daily activities provide a balanced mix of all the aspects a great yogi embodies including disciplined daily practice, knowledge, devotion, action or work, healthy food, rest, nature, service, and community.
You will have the opportunity to learn harmonium for use in performing Kirtan and to learn the Sanskrit alphabet along with how to chant the bija mantras that correspond to the lotus petals of each chakra.
