Core styles taught: Multi-Style
Hatha yoga is the foundation of all modern yoga practices. The word "Hatha" combines ‘Ha’ (Sun Energy) and ‘Tha’ (Moon Energy), symbolizing the integration of these two vital energies. By balancing these energies, Hatha yoga brings harmony to your whole personality.
Hatha yoga helps balance both sides of the brain and unifies these energies into a harmonious oneness. It's a transformative practice that enhances both strength and flexibility. Hatha yoga focuses on asanas (postures) and breath control, holding postures for longer durations. This gentle practice makes it perfect for beginners and advanced practitioners.
Vinyasa Yoga is all about flow. Each asana (pose) is connected to the next through breath, creating a seamless, unbroken sequence. This style calms the mind and promotes a focused state through four key components: asana, ujjayi breath, bandha (body locks), and drishti (gaze). Vinyasa sequences are carefully crafted to maintain this flow, fostering physical and mental balance.
Yin yoga focuses on long-held seated, supine, and prone postures to increase blood circulation in the joints and improve muscle flexibility. Physically, it strengthens connective tissues (ligaments, tendons, and fascia), while energetically, it enhances the flow of prana (life force) through the body's energy channels (meridians).
Yin yoga encourages you to stay with intense sensations, cultivating patience and mindfulness. Holding poses for 2 to 20 minutes, this practice can be deceptively intense, building endurance and expanding your threshold of resistance. Yin yoga teaches you to truly listen to your body and mind, fostering stillness and acceptance in the present moment.
