Location

Location & Neighborhood

Banjar Junjungan lies just beyond the heart of Ubud—nestled in a quieter, more residential community that gently ripples with local life, yet remains only a short drive from Ubud’s vibrant center.

What Makes the Neighborhood Special

Ubud itself is celebrated as Bali’s spiritual and yoga epicenter—its lush rice terraces, dense jungle, and sacred temples create a deeply restorative, natural environment. The town’s name, Ubud, derives from the Balinese word for “medicine,” reflecting its longstanding roots in traditional healing and herbal knowledge.

The surrounding area exudes an artistic and spiritual energy, with cultural highlights such as the Sacred Monkey Forest (a sanctuary combining temple grounds and rainforest habitat) and historic sites like Pura Taman Saraswati with its iconic lotus pond and temple architecture.

The Ubud Royal Palace, with nightly Balinese dance performances, further enriches the locale’s cultural vibrancy.

What Customers Can Find Nearby

Within easy reach are cafes, health‑oriented eateries, and local “warungs” (traditional small restaurants) offering delicious Balinese and vegan fare. Wellness amenities abound: acclaimed venues like Soulshine Bali, Escape Haven, and Fivelements Retreat are nestled nearby, offering holistic experiences that include yoga, spa treatments, traditional Balinese healing, and more.

Guests can also explore artisan offerings—ceramic studios like Gaya Ceramic, textile craftsmanship at Threads of Life, and other handmade art boutiques reflect Ubud’s thriving creative culture.

For cultural and spiritual excursions, the Ubud Writers & Readers Festival attracts global attention as Southeast Asia’s largest literary festival.

This setting—calm yet connected, richly cultural, spiritually immersive, and surrounded by nature—makes the Om Ham Retreat & Resort in Banjar Junjungan an ideal venue for deepening one’s yoga practice and personal journey.

Food

Choosing a vegetarian diet can lead to better health. It helps lower the risk of many diseases like heart problems, diabetes, and cancer. Plus, it can help you avoid high blood pressure and obesity. Eating plants is also easier on your stomach. Meat can make your immune system less effective, make you tired, and slow you down.

Why Yogis Prefer Vegetarianism

People who do yoga want to feel their best. Yoga is great for this, and so is eating vegetarian. Yoga does more than make muscles look good; it keeps your insides clean, helps your digestion, boosts blood circulation, and makes your immune system stronger. A vegetarian diet supports all these yoga benefits.
