200-hour Ashtanga Vinyasa Yin yoga teacher training

200-hour Ashtanga Vinyasa Yin yoga teacher training is a uniquely designed training program. Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga and Yin yoga are opposite to each other. Both of these yoga styles have a different approach, but they complement each other. Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga and Yin yoga are a perfect pair.

Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga works on the dynamic energies, the masculine energy (the Shiva), and the Yang aspect of the being. It targets the Yang muscular system and ignites the inner fire which is necessary for tapas (spiritual practice).

Yin yoga works on the subtle energies, the feminine energy (the Shakti), the Yin aspect of the being. Yin targets and stretches the ligaments, tendons, fascia, and deep connective tissues in the body.

Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga

Ashtanga yoga was discovered in the twentieth century by K. Pattabhi Jois and his guru (teacher), Sri T. Krishnamacharya. Ashtanga yoga practices are the translation of an ancient yogic text known as “yoga korunta”. You will learn and practice the Primary series of Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga.

"The Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga is a dynamic and intense style of yoga. It is a physically demanding, and vigorous yoga style. It works on the dynamic energies.

The practice of Ashtanga Vinyasa develops flexibility, endurance, and strength. Further, it introduces inner peace and balance. It has three different “series.” These are the primary series (“yoga chikitsa”), intermediate series (“nadi shodhana”), and advanced series (“sthira bhaga”).

The Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga system is based on two main elements i.e. Tristhana and Vinyasas. Tristhana is an incorporation of Drishti (focus on gaze), bandhas (energy locks), and ujjayi breathing (victorious breath) with the asana. The synchronized movement of breath and the body is Vinyasa. “Vinyasas” are the flowing sequences of movements that connect one asana with the other.

Yin yoga

The approach of Yin yoga is completely different from Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga. Yin yoga is gentle, slow, soft, subtle, relaxing, and meditative.

The practice of Yin yoga is slow-paced. You hold a posture for a longer duration i.e. (45 seconds to 5 minutes) depending on the comfort and level of the practitioner. It applies mild stress to the connective tissue, tendons, fascia, and ligaments. It aims to increase blood and prana circulation in the region or a joint.

The regular practice of Yin yoga trains the body to activate the parasympathetic nervous system. It brings a sense of stillness, ease, and a meditative state in life. It teaches the art of “letting go.”

Yin yoga improves joint strength, increases flexibility, reduces stress, and improves sleep quality and relaxation. Yin yoga was founded by a martial arts expert and Taoist yoga teacher Paulie Zink in the 1970s. Later, Paul Grilley and Sarah Powers (disciples of Paulie Zink) refined the Yin yoga. They incorporated their knowledge of anatomy and Chinese medicine into this science.

Learn and teach these powerful active and passive styles of yoga and transform your life and the lives of others.

You will practice Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga and Yin yoga in led class and Mysore-style class formats. In the led class, the teacher will instruct and lead students into the complete sequence of asana. Whereas in the Mysore-style class, students practice together at their own pace. The teacher intervenes to correct or align the postures.

This 200-hour Ashtanga Vinyasa Yin yoga teacher training program will teach you how to balance the Yin and Yang energies and establish equality, a balance in all aspects of life.
