The InnerSea Method: Yoga, Nature, Play & Self-Reclamation in Costa Rica
This is your invitation to return.. to the earth, to the ocean, and to the deepest truth within yourself. This is a wild remembering of who you are, what you love, and the power that lives in your body, your breath, and your voice. Set in the lush heart of Costa Rica where rainforest meets ocean, this 17-day immersion invites you into a living classroom: rivers as your teachers, the ocean as your mirror, the land as sacred ground for your becoming. You’ll stay with a local family to learn the Tico culture, learn from the rhythms of nature, and discover yoga as a path of wholeness, not perfection.

Program
At InnerSea Yoga Academy, they go far beyond the physical. This training centers on yogic philosophy, personal growth, and embodied integration. You’ll study ancient wisdom alongside modern tools for nervous system regulation, subconscious reprogramming, and somatic self-inquiry. Each day blends breath, movement, meditation, and self-expression. From forest meditations to ocean rituals to barefoot art practices that reconnect you with the inner child.
You’ll leave understanding not only how to teach yoga — but how to live it. You’ll gain confidence guiding inclusive, accessible classes rooted in presence and compassion, not performance. And you’ll walk away with a deeper relationship to your purpose, your body, and the Earth itself.
Remember what it feels like to be fully alive.
This training is perfect for both aspiring teachers and current instructors ready to reconnect with the heart of their practice, deepen their understanding of yoga philosophy, refine their alignment skills, and awaken a more authentic, soul-led way of teaching and living.

Instructors
Courtney Fletcher
Courtney is an ex-gymnast, spinally fused, 20-year yogi, Ashtangi, trained in India, with a 'gypsea' soul whose practice draws from Ashtanga, Hatha, and Vinyasa. Her heart-centered approach evokes an understanding of interconnectedness through a focus on self-love, nature, and Seva (service). The intention is for her students to discover the light within that ignites their path to inner peace, the connection which opens the heart to universal love.
Jennifer Rivera
Yoga has been such a wonderful part of Jennifer's life for over 20 years now, and this practice has helped her grow stronger, more flexible, and fearless, both on and off the mat. Yoga inspires her to live each moment more mindfully. She completed her 200-hour training with Sacred Hot Yoga Method and some advanced training in trauma-sensitive yoga, as well as several types of Reiki, Qigong, Tai chi, and other healing modalities. She is also a 300-hour trauma-based RYT through Soulwork.
Madison Ripley
This first time Madison stepped on a yoga mat was the first time she pulled at a string that seems to be endlessly unraveling. Here she is, years later, pulling and unraveling, pulling and unraveling - only to remember that the work never really ends. This practice has given her power back - the power of being aware enough to learn in every moment. She learned that the only action between wanting to change and change is choice, that the ability to feel is a gift, and that this moment, right here, has all she needs to “know.”
Location
Uvita is a small village in southern Costa Rica. It is notable for its location, where the mountains most closely reach the Pacific Ocean, it is the closest village to Marino Ballena National Park (40 minutes walking, or a 5-minute taxi ride). This tropical hamlet possesses great charm in an unspoiled and serene atmosphere. With palm trees swaying in the wind, providing shady relief from the intense Pacific sun, there is plenty of outdoor options in this tropical paradise.
