I just finished my 1-week yoga retreat at Lanka Yoga at beautiful Koggala Lake. To be honest I didn’t know what to expect since I am quite new to Yoga. So I was a little worried if I could keep up with the yoga classes. But none of my worries were justified: Despite the different levels of the participants the yoga was super fun for everyone. I especially liked the yoga style "Synergy Yoga", which is taught here. Instead of forced stretching, we worked individually according to the level of the participants from fluid movement. It was a perfect way to start the day and end the afternoon with it. Just in time for the really tasty food, which was provided 3 times a day. All dishes are vegan and quite diverse: from Sri Lanka's signature Rice and Curry to smoothie bowls, vegan pizza and pumpkin squash. Definitely three highlights during the day :) Between the yoga sessions there was always an (optional) group activity such as a boat tour on the lake, a surf session or a cooking class. And even after that there was enough time to take a nap, chill by the amazing infinity pool or connect with your fellow retreat participants. I honestly made such great connections with the people here: The other guests, the staff and of course the three dogs are lovely, so after a few days Lanka Yoga already felt very homey. Jane, Stefan and Jonas made my stay here really great and you can feel the love that they poured into this place.
