Lanka Yoga's approach to yoga

Lanka Yoga’s approach to yoga is simple: move with purpose, guided by science. Traditional asana is blended with modern physiotherapy principles in the Yoga Synergy method, developed by physiotherapists for everyday bodies. Each sequence follows these principles (such as gentle spinal waves before deep backbends), with clear and accessible cues, ensuring every pose protects joints and supports long-term health. The goal is a pain-free, sustainable practice suitable for all ages and levels, designed to be shared or kept for life.

What's waiting for you:

  • All-inclusive: 3 chef-prepared vegan meals daily and luxury lake-view accommodation on-site
  • Extra nourishment: Unlimited fruit, herbal tea, and filtered water
  • Beautiful setting: Practice steps from a tranquil lake, surrounded by nature
  • Small group experience: Max 20 students with 5 teachers (4:1 ratio) for personalized attention
  • Comprehensive program: All classes, practice-teaching, workshops, lectures, plus individual support and group activities
  • Training materials: Printed and digital 200-page manual, full use of mats, blocks, and straps
  • Free online prep course: Lifetime access to ‘A New Yoga’ foundations course (150 EUR value)
  • Evolving curriculum: Regularly updated with the latest movement science and yoga education
  • Ongoing support: Private graduate group for mentoring, growth, and job leads
  • Certification: Yoga Alliance 200-hour RYT certificate upon successful completion

A structured yet varied schedule designed for effective learning

You will learn six days a week, reserving Sundays for rest, over three magical weeks. While each day of the YTT is unique, Lanka Yoga follows a predictable schedule to facilitate an engaging and effective learning experience. They believe that a varied program is crucial for enhancing the learning process. Here's an example of what a typical day YTT might look like:

  • 07:00–09:00 | Morning practice

The two-hour morning practice includes a short meditation, sometimes joint and spinal movements, Vinyasa, and asana, tailored to the day's topics.

  • 09:00–10:00 | Breakfast break

A short break to enjoy a freshly prepared breakfast and maybe even take a dip in the infinity pool.

  • 10:00–13:00 | Class review, workshops, and talks

After the morning practice, the day continues with a class review, followed by a discussion or lecture. A short break is taken before moving into practical workshops. The content of these sessions varies daily and is adapted to suit the group's energy and needs.

  • 13:00–15:00 | Lunch and free time

The two-hour lunch break is to rest. Kick back by the pool, have a massage, read a book, or take a nap; it's up to you.

  • 15:00–18:20 | Lectures, workshops, and practice teaching

The afternoon sessions start with a dynamic lecture or discussion, followed by a workshop or activity that helps you prepare for the upcoming practice teaching session. You'll have the opportunity to teach the concepts learned during the day, and through games and exercises, different teaching styles and methodologies are explored to build confidence and skill set.

  • 18:20–18:30 | Closing circle

Everyone will gather around 6:20 pm for a closing circle to reflect on the day's activities and share insights gained during the day.

  • 18:30 onward | Dinner and free time

After dinner, you have the evening to yourself. You can choose to explore the local area, study, or unwind with your fellow trainees.

A variety of books and board games are available, and on some evenings, movie screenings are set up in the yoga shala or group activities such as sharing circles and ecstatic dance are organized. While the above schedule offers a general framework, variance and surprise are incorporated to keep it engaging and dynamic. At the same time, structure is maintained to ensure a well-rounded experience.
