Pre-Application Requirements
All levels are welcome, though some prior experience with yoga is recommended.
You'll need a yoga mat, a computer, tablet, or smartphone, a stable internet connection, a pen, and a notebook. Please install Zoom on your device to join the live sessions.
Certification
Upon successful completion of the course requirements, you will receive a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training Certificate from One Yoga. Your certificate will be issued digitally and is valid indefinitely. This certificate is recognized by Yoga Alliance, the most widely respected international registry for yoga teachers.
With this certification, you are eligible to become a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200) with Yoga Alliance. This status allows you to teach professionally in studios, retreats, and online - worldwide.
To qualify for certification, you must:
- Complete all course modules and quizzes
- Submit required assignments and teaching practice videos
- Attend a minimum of 30 hours of live sessions
- Pass a final review by our lead teachers
How The Training Works
Join classes anytime, from the comfort of your home—wherever you are in the world! All you need is an internet connection and a device like a laptop, tablet, or smartphone with Zoom installed.
This training will be held online via Zoom and high-quality recorded videos. You’ll have access to live Q&A webinars with One Yoga teachers during weekends, personalized advice and guidance via email, and feedback on video recordings of your yoga practice and teaching.
The course takes a minimum of 4 months to complete if you study around 12 hours per week, but you’re free to study at a slower pace and continue attending sessions for as long as you need. You’ll have full access to course materials, live sessions, and support for as long as your chosen plan is active.
To keep the course accessible and encourage steady progress, One Yoga can offer two flexible payment options:
- One-year access – 599 USD one-time payment: Get 12 full months of access to the training materials and live sessions. Ideal if you prefer to move at your own pace with peace of mind. If you need more time beyond 12 months, you can switch to the $99/month plan.
- Monthly plan – 99 USD per month: You pay as you go, for as long as you need. The minimum course duration is 4 months due to the required video homework assignments and 30 hours of live Zoom sessions. Most students complete the training within 4–8 months. If you need more time, you can continue paying monthly until you graduate.
Contact Hours
Live Zoom sessions (around 13 hours per month) are held on weekends and scheduled for various time zones. These sessions with the teachers give you the chance to ask questions, receive guidance, and stay connected to a supportive community. A minimum of 30 hours of live attendance is required for certification.
Non-Contact Hours
Approximately 120 hours will be completed through high-quality, pre-recorded videos. The remaining hours involve practical exercises, which students must complete, record, and share directly with the teacher. Teachers will provide feedback and respond to any questions via email.

Instructors
Sergio León Candia
Sergio León Candia holds a Bachelor of Education and is a Physical Education teacher. He also holds a Masters of Arts degree in Buddhist Studies from the International Buddhist College, Thailand. He had his first contact with Eastern Philosophy during his teenage years of martial arts training. In 2008, he dedicated 5 years to travel around the world to work in different areas and learn more about life. During his stay in Thailand, he went on different Buddhist meditation retreats. Currently he still researches the Early Buddhist texts and shares Anapanasati meditation.
Lumi (Karen) Tanaka
Karen is a yoga practitioner for over 9 years and has been teaching since 2015 in places like Thailand, India, Malaysia, and Europe Through studying with experienced teachers and her personal practice (Ashtanga Mysore) she has acquired a deep understanding of how to integrate the more subtle aspects of breath and mindfulness into the asana practice, incorporating these elements to her teaching. Paired with a deep knowledge of alignment and movement principles, she approaches the practice in a holistic manner, in order to benefit body, mind, and soul.
Alex
Alex, founder of Higher Yoga Academy, offers educational resources for yoga teachers and practitioners worldwide. Practicing since 2000, he focuses on the spiritual depth of yoga beyond the physical. Trained under a yoga master and teaching since 2006, Alex draws from years of meditation, solitude, and immersion in various yogic paths. His mission is to simplify and share yoga’s essence, helping people integrate it into daily life. He teaches in yoga trainings and creates online programs to spread this wisdom globally.
Astrid
Astrid began her yoga journey as a path of self-healing, grounded in compassion, presence, and holistic health. Astrid draws continued inspiration from the principle of “alignment from within,” as well as the breath, yogic philosophy, selfless service (Karma Yoga), devotional practice (Bhakti Yoga), and contact improvisation dance. With over 1,500 hours of training and a Yoga Therapist certification, she integrates Yin Yoga, anatomy, Ayurveda, and psychology into her teaching. Her approach is deeply personal, honoring each student’s unique path.
Christiaan
Christiaan began his Asana training in 1974 and deepened into Pranayama and meditation in the early 1980s. For the past four decades, he has lived in China, where — alongside a successful music career — he pioneered a fusion of deep listening, contemplative practice, and sound art. He continues to perform live internationally and share his creative vision through teaching and lectures.

This teacher training is held fully online. One Yoga Thailand is based in Koh Phangan, Thailand, and will guide you through online training via recorded videos, live online interactions, and exercises from the comfort of your home, anywhere in the world!
