Each day begins with the morning bell at 5:30 AM, followed by a Classical Asana practice that awakens and energizes the body in preparation for the day's learning. This is followed by pranayama and mantra chanting, where students work with sacred breathing techniques and sound vibration to purify the energy channels and cultivate the inner stillness and clarity that supports both yoga and Ayurvedic study. After a nourishing Sattvic breakfast, the academic portion of the day begins.
The morning academic sessions cover Yoga Therapy, exploring how yogic practices support healing and the treatment of common conditions, followed by Yoga Anatomy, which examines the body's physical and energetic systems including the digestive, respiratory, circulatory, and nervous systems, as well as the nadis and chakras. After lunch, students return for Yoga Philosophy, drawing from the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, the history of Indian philosophy, the Bhagavat Geeta, and the classical texts of the yoga tradition including the Panchakosha, Triguna, and the Five Elements.
The highlight of each afternoon is the dedicated Ayurveda Theory and Practice session, the heart and soul of this unique program. Spread across four progressive weeks, students explore the fundamental principles of Ayurveda including the concept of the five elements, the three doshas of Vata, Pitta, and Kapha, the seven body elements, body channels, the concept of Agni and metabolic toxins, body constitution, Ayurvedic nutrition and the six tastes, Sattvic diet, and how Ayurveda cures disease through natural healing. The four-week structure also progressively introduces pranayama techniques, mudras, and bandhas, ensuring students develop a rich and layered understanding of how breath, energy, and Ayurvedic principles are deeply interconnected.
Each day closes with a peaceful meditation session drawing from breathing awareness, Om and mantra meditation, Trataka, and dynamic meditation practices, before students gather for dinner and lights off at 9 PM. Throughout the 25-day program, students also participate in special experiences including weekend excursions, a Himalayan cave meditation trip, a Himalayan sightseeing tour, Indian classical dance sessions, a free cooking class, and nature walks to identify Ayurvedic plants, all of which bring the teachings of Ayurveda and yoga beautifully to life in their natural setting.
Included excursions
The 200 Hour Ayurveda Yoga Teacher Training at Samadhi Yoga Ashram includes a wonderful selection of excursions and special experiences that bring the teachings of Ayurveda and yoga to life far beyond the classroom. Each excursion is thoughtfully chosen to connect students with the sacred natural environment, ancient healing traditions, and rich spiritual culture of Rishikesh and the surrounding Himalayas, deepening and enriching the overall learning journey in a meaningful and memorable way.
Himalayan Sightseeing Trip to Kunjapuri
Students are taken on a sacred sightseeing journey to Kunjapuri, a revered hilltop temple nestled high in the Himalayas offering sweeping panoramic views of the mountain range and the valleys below. For students studying Ayurveda, the Himalayas hold a particularly special significance as the ancient source of many Ayurvedic herbs, plants, and healing traditions. Visiting Kunjapuri and experiencing the pure mountain energy firsthand adds a deeply inspiring and spiritually uplifting dimension to the overall Ayurvedic training experience.
Himalayan Cave Meditation Trip
One of the most extraordinary experiences included in the program is the Himalayan cave meditation trip. Students venture into the ancient mountain caves where great yogis, sages, and Ayurvedic masters practiced deep meditation and healing for thousands of years. Meditating in these sacred caves, surrounded by the silence and powerful natural energy of the Himalayas, is a rare and profoundly moving experience that deepens the understanding of the mind-body-spirit connection that lies at the very heart of Ayurvedic philosophy.
Ayurvedic Plant Walk in Nature
A truly unique and special inclusion in this program is the guided nature walk where students learn to identify different Ayurvedic plants growing in the natural environment surrounding the ashram. This hands-on botanical experience brings the theoretical study of Ayurvedic herbs and natural medicine directly to life, giving students a practical and embodied understanding of how Ayurveda draws its healing wisdom from the natural world. This is a rare opportunity that few yoga programs offer and one that students of Ayurveda will find deeply valuable.
Weekend Excursions
Regular weekend excursions are organised throughout the course to give students the opportunity to explore the spiritual, cultural, and natural treasures of Rishikesh and its surrounding areas. These outings provide a refreshing and inspiring break from the intensive daily training schedule while keeping students fully immersed in the sacred and healing atmosphere of the region. They also create wonderful opportunities for the student community to bond and share experiences outside the classroom.
Indian Classical Dance Sessions
As part of the rich cultural enrichment woven into the training, students participate in Indian classical dance sessions. Rooted in ancient devotional tradition, Indian classical dance is deeply connected to spiritual expression and the celebration of life force energy, making it a natural and joyful complement to the holistic healing principles of Ayurveda and yoga. These sessions bring lightness, creativity, and a sense of joyful community to the overall training experience.
Free Cooking Class
A free cooking class is included as part of the program, offering students a hands-on and practical experience of preparing traditional Sattvic and Ayurvedic cuisine. This class is particularly meaningful for students on the Ayurveda Yoga course, as food is one of the most fundamental pillars of Ayurvedic healing. Students learn about the six tastes, the dosha-balancing qualities of different foods, and how to prepare nourishing meals that support the body's natural intelligence and promote optimal health, knowledge that can be directly applied in daily life and teaching practice long after the course ends.
Free Himalayan Tour
A free Himalayan tour is included in the program, taking students on a scenic and spiritually uplifting journey into the magnificent Himalayan landscape surrounding Rishikesh. The Himalayas are the spiritual homeland of both yoga and Ayurveda, and experiencing their grandeur, pure air, and extraordinary natural energy firsthand provides a deeply grounding and inspiring complement to the healing wisdom being studied throughout the course.

Location
Samadhi Yoga Ashram is beautifully situated in Laxman Jhula, Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, India, resting peacefully on the sacred banks of the holy Ganga river. Rishikesh is revered worldwide as the Yoga Capital of the World and the birthplace of yoga, and for students of Ayurveda it holds an equally profound significance as a land where ancient healing wisdom has been practiced, preserved, and passed down by great masters for thousands of years. The ashram is embraced by the magnificent Himalayas, whose pure mountain air, pristine waters, and powerful natural energy create an ideal environment for the deep study of Ayurveda and its connection with yoga.
The ashram is positioned on the quieter and more tranquil side of the Ganga riverbank, away from the louder and more commercialized touristy parts of Rishikesh. This peaceful setting is especially well suited to the holistic and healing focus of the 200 Hour Ayurveda Yoga program, where a calm mind, pure surroundings, and immersion in nature are essential to fully absorbing the ancient knowledge being taught. Despite this serenity, the ashram remains conveniently close to local shops, cafes, and restaurants, ensuring students have easy access to everything they need during their 25-day stay.
A unique feature of the 200 Hour Ayurveda Yoga program at Samadhi Yoga Ashram is that students have the opportunity to walk in nature and identify different Ayurvedic plants growing in the surrounding environment, bringing the theoretical study of Ayurvedic botany and natural medicine directly to life. The Ganga river flows right beside the ashram, where students can practice yoga on its serene banks, take sacred dips, and experience the deeply purifying energy of one of India's most holy waterways.
The surrounding neighborhood is rich in spiritual, cultural, and natural experiences. Students can visit the iconic Laxman Jhula suspension bridge, explore ancient temples, attend the moving Ganga Aarti ceremony each evening, and discover the vibrant local culture of Rishikesh. For those drawn to the mountains, excursions to Kunjapuri temple offer sweeping Himalayan panoramas, and Himalayan cave meditation trips connect students with the ancient yogic and Ayurvedic traditions that originated in these very mountains. Every aspect of this remarkable location naturally supports and enriches the Ayurvedic and yogic journey undertaken during this course.
Food
Samadhi Yoga Ashram understands that, along with being one of the important energy sources for the body, food can be one of the major factors that maintain a good state of physical and emotional well-being. Nutrition is well beyond the yogic standpoint of just filling oneself with food because it defines the energetic quality of the food itself. A well-integrated yoga practice needs nourishment from all walks of nutrition and, therefore, forms a priority to think about the quality and origin of your meals.
The school shall also be happy to offer you Sattvic cuisine, fully vegetarian-only; no animal products used, hence nothing harming animals in the process. All dishes are prepared with natural farming practices, making sure there is no harmful additive, preservative, and no artificial flavour in them so that you may nurture your body in conjunction with your yoga practice.
