During this training, you will be staying at a yoga ashram in Mysore, the main location of Samyak Yoga. The yoga shala at Samyak Yoga's ashram is structured in such a way that it can accommodate around 40 students at a time. It allows them to practice with a feeling of vastness.
The rooms are vast and built with South Indian bricks that keep the temperature calm and comfortable for yoga practice and relaxation, with hot water available.
There are no systems or devices available at the ashram for the use of the students. Hence, if you need to browse the Internet, they recommend bringing laptops, phones, or tablets along. However, an Internet facility is not allowed at the yoga shala as it distracts one's focus from the process of learning.
Please note that a yoga ashram is a place wherein the practice, teaching, and discussions related to yoga take place. It is not a religious place. Samyak Yoga's ashram was specifically established for yoga teacher training programs, and its entire team is completely committed to it.
Ashram life
This residential intensive Vinyasa yoga teacher training expects you to be completely dedicated to the practice and philosophy. If you are just interested in some practice but are not serious about learning, then this training is not for you.

What is Vinyasa yoga?
Vinyasa yoga is a method of yoga practiced wherein the asanas are done in a specific order, developed by Sri T Krishnamacharya. It is not just the sequence of asanas put together; rather, every single asana has its own specific sequence to follow, and then a proper sequencing of asanas, and finally, the proper sequencing of asana families to complete the entire practice of Vinyasa yoga. This method of practice is called “Vinyasa Krama“.
What is tristhana practice?
Tristhana is a three-fold practice element in Vinyasa wherein the specific asana, breath, and drishti lead the practice. The asana refers to annamaya kosha, breath to pranamaya kosha, and drishti to manomaya kosha. This three-fold practice is a traditional way of Vinyasa yoga practice, leading to the practice of bandha, and then to dhyana at later stages.

Teacher training approach
At Samyak Yoga, the entire Vinyasa yoga teacher training course is designed following the Vinyasa yoga tradition. If you are looking for fitness-based Vinyasa flow or some dance form-based modern flow practices in the name of Vinyasa yoga teacher training, then this course is not for you.
During this Vinyasa yoga teacher training, you will work on practicing traditional Vinyasa yoga as it is.
Your teachers in training
At Samyak Yoga, the teaching team is a blend of tradition and modern clarity. Each teacher has lived the yogic path through years of study in gurukulas and daily practice, bringing depth, precision, and heart into every class. Together, they offer not just techniques, but also the spirit of yoga - rooted in wisdom, refined by experience, and shared with joy.
Why early registration matters
Yoga teacher training is not an Amazon shopping cart experience. It is not something you book and simply show up for. The 200-hour Vinyasa yoga teacher training at Samyak is an intensive, immersive, residential process that requires physical stamina, mental steadiness, and readiness to study and reflect.
Early registration is not just about reserving a seat. It is about preparing for the training itself. Once you register, your journey will begin through Samyak Kulam, where you can start preparatory asana practice, guided sessions, and reflective learning.
Samyak Yoga strongly recommends dedicating at least one hour a day, five to six days a week, for a few months before the training begins. This preparation is not about flexibility or being “advanced,” but about building consistency, endurance, and inner discipline.
Students who register early arrive more grounded, struggle less physically, and are able to absorb the depth of the training more fully.
If you are looking for something casual, recreational, or purely enjoyable without study and commitment, then this training may not be the right fit. But, if you are willing to prepare sincerely, Samyak will support you from the moment you register - long before you arrive in Mysore.
Is it possible that one might not get the certificate?
If your knowledge is inadequate to become a yoga teacher, you might not receive the certification. You might also not receive the certification if you miss more than three sessions (not three days) during the training. In this case, you will get the participation certificate, not the teacher training certificate.
You will have time to rework and complete the assignments to receive the 'yoga teacher certification.'
Day off during the training
The 7th, 14th, and 21st of the month will be days off for the classes. You can go shopping, book massages, and visit in and around Mysore.

The meals provided three times a day will be breakfast, lunch, and dinner, while there will also be two tea breaks: after the philosophical discussions during the morning session and again in the evening.
Yogic Indian food served during the yoga teacher training will be suitable for the yoga practice of the students and will help in detoxifying the body for yogic practices. Samyak Yoga does not offer meat, fish, and eggs, which are considered stimulating and lethargic for yogic practices.
The yogic food will be seasoned with mild spices, which is a part of the Ayurvedic diet. Besides nutritional value, Samyak Yoga loves to give a culinary taste of India.
All food will be prepared with filtered water in their clean and spacious kitchen, wherein they give utmost importance to the hygiene of all the food items and cooks. They are hoping to grow all food at their yoga eco-farm eventually; until then, they buy food that is grown seasonally by local farmers.
Unless you have diagnosed allergies, Samyak yoga cannot change your meals. For lactose intolerance, soya milk will be provided. Should you need other vegan products, you will be able to purchase them from Mysore. In case of gluten intolerance, there will be food options, though minimal. Should you follow only a raw food diet, please buy your own vegetables and fruits in Mysore. Samyak Yoga can make arrangements for the same.
Students with a preference for vegan and gluten-free diets can comfortably manage there. You will have brown bread, muesli, and cornflakes with fruit for breakfast. Lunch and dinner will include salads, vegetables, lentils, beans, rice, wheat items, soups, and desserts on occasion.
Samyak Yoga designs the menu to calm the body and mind down while you are going through detoxification during the intensive practice or course, which generates a lot more heat in the body and mind, and is beneficial to the intense practice of yoga. All foods will be served in buffet-style, and you can take as much as you want to.
Your food will be prepared based on Ayurvedic concepts such as vata, pitta, and kapha, with the vegetables supplied by the local farmers. The food menu will be designed under the guidance of Dr Meghana Narayana and a nutritionist. The menu will consist of some of India's popular cuisines and the local cuisine that no other tourist would have tasted.
The premises where the meals will take place will not be a restaurant. People cooking the food should be treated with respect. Please be kind and be loving towards people who work for Samyak Yoga while you focus on your inner growth at the yoga shala.
Students with low blood pressure are suggested to bring extra iron or mineral supplements. Samyak Yoga will provide drinking water purified with reverse osmosis filters, the best possible filtration in India. Please also bring a water bottle to fill up anytime at the dining or yoga halls.
