Things to do (optional)
Sun Salute Retreats for an extra fee can accommodate you a few days before or after your training (enquire if interested) so that you can enjoy what the south of Spain has to offer. They will help you to orientate yourself to the area, activities, restaurants, such as boat trips, day trips to Murcia (1-hour 20-minute bus ride), and Cartagena (40 minutes by taxi), Granada, and the Alhambra is 4-hour and 30-minute away by bus, hiking, diving, Calblanque Natural Park, Natural Reserve Cabo De Palos, Natural Hot Springs of Thalasia, visiting the pink lakes of the Salinas and seeing the flamingos, and taking a natural mud bath at Parque Natural de Las Salinas de San Pedro, beaches in walking distance, restaurants, coffee shops, local markets, and tapas bars nearby.
San Pedro Market
One of the best ways of exploring and enjoying Alicante and the surrounding province is to visit the street markets. There you will find not only local products, such as the local pastries, fresh Mediterranean fruit and vegetables, or something authentically Spanish like empanadillas. These street markets and flea markets are also there for you to get lost in; to discover bargains in used or second-hand objects, and to be enticed by a multitude of vintage items that are now difficult to find.
Immerse yourself in this welter of bargains and discoveries that these markets have to offer. Transfer is about 15 EUR one-way to be split between 1–6 people.
Las Charcas in San Pedro del Pinatar (Healing Mud baths in nature)
The famous mud from the Mar Menor has made Murcia an important destination for health and beauty tourism. Nevertheless, this region in southeastern Spain also has a wealth of mineral-rich, medicinal waters in inland areas. In the town of Archena, 25 kilometers from the city of Murcia, you will find a good example. Its spa resort boasts having been Spain's most popular thermal center at the end of the 19th century; it continues to be a renowned complex to this day.
It is set in the fertile Ricote Valley, an area of countryside irrigated by the Segura River, with interesting contrasts of landscape: palm groves, oranges, and a variety of fruit trees are flanked by arid-looking mountains. The result is a unique, peaceful setting that is ideal for rest and relaxation. Transfers are included in your package.
Rent a Bike
Alicante possesses an extraordinary cultural, natural, and ethnographic richness. The best way to get to know the places and people that constitute these hidden and wonderful landscapes of the Iberian Southeast is by hiking or cycling.
Flamenco dinner and night out in MURCIA
Murcia highly values the customs of traditional life, including paseo, tapas, and plazas. With about half a million inhabitants, Murcia has an excellent nightlife, which is mostly around the university area and also has good shopping opportunities with plenty of fashion boutiques and interior stores. You will have the opportunity to see a live performance in a flamenco bar while having dinner or just spending some time shopping or walking around. Transfers about 60 EUR each way to split between your group of 1–6 people, 40 minutes taxi ride one-way.
Cartagena
If you’re looking for reasons to visit Cartagena, Spain, then you really don’t have to look far. As the second-largest city in Southeastern Spain’s underrated Murcia region, Cartagena doesn’t get nearly the amount of attention it deserves, and this is a real shame. Packing in everything from a classic Spanish charm, perennially beautiful weather, local gastronomic specialties, and incredible history, Cartagena has so much to offer and should definitely make it onto your next Spain itinerary.
Cartagena, Spain, is a dynamic and multifaceted city that is situated on Murcia’s Costa Cálida. It is also the perfect place to visit if you’re looking to avoid tourist crowds and have a relaxing and stress-free visit to Spain. With plenty of outdoor activities, historic sites, and delicious food to be had, Cartagena really checks all the boxes for a perfect Spanish holiday destination! Transfers about 60 EUR each way to split between your group of 1–6 people, 40 minutes taxi ride one-way.
Hiking
There are many different hiking routes: coastline walks, natural parks, and reserves. Visit places like Cabo de Palos. Walk around the Mar Menor. Extra cost for transfers.
Horseback riding
Alicante is the perfect environment for horseback riding. Its multiple paths and trails take you through a diversity of landscapes and views. There are different options for your group, length, distance, and duration to determine the price; however, usually, it is around 25 EUR per person per hour. The transfer is about 60 EUR for 1–6 people.
SUP or kayaking
- Available in the Mar Menor Natural Park Area or Cabo Roig. The price is 25 EUR per person (transfers about 15 EUR for 1-6 people).
Visit Granada
The Alhambra, in pace with its history, has become the destination of many tourists and probably the best treasure of the city of Granada. To enjoy the beauty of the palatine chambers, the scents of the courtyards and gardens, the games of light and color of the richly decorated halls, and the impressive views of the Albaycin and the Vega constitutes a privilege for your senses.
A place for cultural meetings and the destination chosen by millions of people worldwide will lead you to rethink its value in a global world subjected to multiple stresses. The Alhambra has lived, is living, and will continue living, thus making the heritage maxim possible as an evolutionary concept not anchored in time. Today the Alhambra will be a part of you because it is yours and everyone's, 3-hour bus ride about 25 EUR.
Spa treatments
There are different types of therapies you can book for an additional price, as, for example:
- Hot stone massage (extra 55 EUR)
- 45 minutes Reflexology (extra 40 EUR)
- 50 minutes Swedish Massage (extra 55 EUR)
- 50 minute Deep Tissue extra (55 EUR)
- Manicure and Pedicures available (15 to 20 EUR)
