How the training works
The course consists of self-paced online yoga teacher training (20 hours) and five days of residential immersion in Bali (30 hours). There will be no live sessions, only modules that can be completed before or after the in-person part. Throughout the program, you will engage in daily yoga practice, interactive workshops, group discussions, and self-study, all designed to deepen your knowledge, refine your skills, and inspire personal growth.

Yin yoga foundations
This section will dive into the heart of Yin yoga, exploring its origins in the Taoist concepts of balance and harmony. You will learn about the key characteristics of Yin yoga, such as long-held, passive poses that primarily work the lower part of the body - the hips, pelvis, inner thighs, and lower spine. These areas are rich in connective tissues. The module aims to cultivate an understanding of the practice’s intent to enhance circulation in the joints and improve flexibility. Yin yoga also works on deeper layers and helps with emotional releases.
Anatomy and physiology
This module is dedicated to understanding the unique anatomical considerations relevant to Yin yoga, such as the impact on connective tissues and joints. The emphasis will be on the science of stress and relaxation and how Yin yoga promotes health in the body's more rigid structures. It will also cover the nervous system's response to Yin practice and its implications for mental health, emphasizing the body-mind connection.
Breathwork techniques
Focusing on the transformative power of breath, this part of the program will teach various breathwork techniques that complement Yin yoga. The goal is to show how breathwork can regulate the body's energy flow, support emotional equilibrium, and enhance the meditative aspects of Yin yoga. Techniques will include Ujjayi breathing, Anulom Vilom, and Bhramri, each selected for its specific benefits and applicability to Yin practice.
Mindfulness practices
Mindfulness is integral to Yin yoga, and this module will introduce practices that foster mindfulness, concentration, and a deeper sense of peace. It will explore meditation techniques, detailing how each can be integrated into Yin yoga sessions. The emphasis will be on developing a personal practice that supports yoga teaching and personal well-being.
Teaching methodology
This crucial module prepares participants to teach Yin Yoga effectively. It will cover alignment and modifications of foundation Yin poses, class planning, sequencing, the art of verbal cues, and the use of props to support or deepen poses. The focus will be on nurturing a supportive, inclusive environment that encourages exploration and self-awareness among students of all levels.
Practical sessions
You will engage in practical sessions where you practice and integrate yin yoga, breathwork, and mindfulness, guided by expert teachers in a supportive environment. The goal is to build confidence in practicing and teaching Yin yoga, breathwork through lived experience.
Integration and application
This module will discuss the integration of Yin yoga into daily life and professional practice. It will include strategies for maintaining personal practice, managing the challenges of teaching, and continuously learning and evolving as a yoga instructor. The module aims to inspire participants to carry forward the principles of Yin Yoga, breathwork, in ways that benefit both themselves and their communities.
