This beautiful, fully furnished home in the Southern Suburbs has interactive social areas as well as providing personal space. There is a variety of rooms available, including a twin room with a shared bathroom, a double room with a shared bathroom, and a double room en-suite. Rooms will be offered to students on a "first register, first choice" basis.

Program

What to expect

This is a 200-hour YTT that will bring you to the beautiful city of Cape Town, South Africa.

This yoga intensive includes six days of YTT each week with one day off (Fridays) for personal leisure and exploration. On lecture days, they will include a combination of physical practice as well as theory. Both Vinyasa and Yin classes as well as understanding of asanas will be covered within this YTT.

The Source emphasizes anatomy and alignment, teaching skills, offering modifications, props and adjustments, choreography and sequencing, and holding space.

Theory includes applied yogic philosophy, mindfulness and meditation, pranayama, Ayurveda cooking lessons, reflexology, "Grief Recovery Yoga," and the business of yoga. Students will have dedicated time to complete various assignments such as anatomy, class design, business development, chakras, eight limbs, and teaching assessments in both Vinyasa and Yin yoga.

Residential training

Shared accommodation in a private house will be provided along with a fully equipped and stocked kitchen for wholesome meals. They endeavor to provide a variety of groceries for vegan and vegetarian options. They are also privileged to have a housekeeper to assist with cooking, cleaning, and creating this "yoga home" for the month.

Parts of the YTT will take place at the studio and others at the house. They will provide transport where required.

The African Experience YTT

The Source has designed the "African Experience" to give participants a chance to explore the culture and beauty of Cape Town. They have included specific experiences within the tuition, including meeting the penguins at Boulder’s Beach, exploring the V andA Waterfront, walking through Kirstenbosch Gardens, driving along scenic Chapman’s Peak, strolling along Kalk Bay Boulevard, and enjoying beach sunsets.

Drive to Chapman's Peak and around the Cape Peninsula

During the trip, there will be a stop at Boulder's Beach to hang out with penguins in their natural habitat! Then, it will be on to Kalk Bay to enjoy the restaurants (own cost) and great vibe. For those who are brave, you can also take a dip in the cold Dalebrook Pools.

Location

The Source studio is nestled at the base of Table Mountain and is surrounded by the lush greenery of Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. The serene space holds the yoga studio where they offer Vinyasa and Yin classes that are open to everybody.

The neighborhood has beautiful walks through the parks and forests, where you'll find families, dogs, runners, and cyclists enjoying the friendly space.

The place is close to Newlands Village, which offers a variety of coffee bars, delis, restaurants, evening bars, and shops for you to explore.

Food

The fridge and cupboards will be stocked with healthy and wholesome groceries (with a wide variety to cater to dietary requirements) for you to prepare your breakfasts.

Lunch and dinner will be prepared for you each day. Snacks such as fruits, nuts, and health bars will also be readily available.
