About the Course

The signature 200-hour level course provides foundational instruction in all aspects of yoga as taught by Master of Yoga, Dr. Shri Yogi Hari.

This two-week residential course will provide you with the knowledge, skills, and certification necessary to confidently teach yoga to a wide range of students. The Sampoorna Yoga Teacher Training Course is registered with Yoga Alliance at the 200-hour level.

Experience profound personal transformation and move forward in life with greater purpose with Sampoorna Yoga through the structured practice of daily meditation, chanting, Hatha yoga, and a healthy vegetarian diet, you will experience radiant health and peace of mind.   • Anatomy and physiology in relation to Hatha yoga
  • Asanas (yoga postures): Practice and teaching techniques
  • Astral body, nadis, and chakras
  • Ayurveda: Basic introduction to this ancient healing art
  • Bhakti yoga: The path of devotion and love for God, including the practices of chanting, worship, and self-surrender
  • Bhagavad Gita: Study and its application to life
  • Jnana yoga: Self-knowledge, inquiry into the question "Who am I?"
  • Karma and reincarnation
  • Karma yoga: The path of action and selfless service (1-hour practice each day involving preparing dinner vegetables, cleaning the ashram, gardening, and other projects)

It is the yoga of fullness that intelligently integrates Hatha, Raja, Karma, Bhakti, Jnana, and Nada yoga to purify and harmonize all aspects of the human personality so that the light of the soul shines forth in its Divine splendor.

His approach is deep, simple, and practical, and helps people from every background to live a richer, happier life based on lasting yogic values. The basic teaching is that health, peace, and joy are already within you. They are your birthright. Sampoorna yoga can help you to uncover them.

Sampoorna yoga is the step-by-step process whereby the individual comes to know his true nature as divine, or, as Paramguru Swami Sivananda says, the radiant immortal self. Sampoorna yoga, developed by Yogi Hari in his many years of practicing and teaching yoga, has been inspired by the teachings of Swami Sivananda and his disciples, Swami Vishnu-Devananda and Swami Nada-Brahmananda.

This priceless gem of Sampoorna yoga has evolved through the harmonious and intelligent integration of Hatha, Raja, Bhakti, Jnana, Karma, and Nada yoga to mold a harmonious and balanced personality. It is now offered to earnest students of self-discovery, through the ancient system of living and studying with the master.

Recommended Resources:

You may have a busy life without much time for additional studying prior to your training. However, graduates of the TTC recommend a foundation in Sampoorna Yoga before coming to the ashram. %Therefore, they would like to strongly encourage you to review the following materials before your training.

1. Watch and Practice: Sampoorna Hatha Yoga Level 1 by Shri Yogi Hari

This 73-minute video is the complete Hatha Yoga class that you practice and learn how to teach during your two-week training. The more often that you can practice with this video before your training, the easier it will be for you to memorize the sequence and be comfortable when you have the opportunity to teach. We recommend practicing with this video 3-4 times per week until you come to the training. Some students have found it helpful to practice with it every day so the Sampoorna Yoga sequence and system become natural and comfortable to them. It is available as a DVD or download from our website.

2. Read: Sampoorna Yoga by Shri Yogi Hari

This book gives you an overview of Sampoorna Yoga and exposes you to the Yogic and Vedantic teachings that you will learn in the course. It includes many helpful question-and-answer sections that pertain to general Yogic knowledge and the evolution of your consciousness. This book is also available in Spanish and German.

3. Listen to: Satsang 1 by Shri Yogi Hari

This album includes many of the chants and mantras that we use at the ashram in the practice of Nada Yoga, the science of divine vibration. We will be involved in Nada Yoga several times each day as a continuation of our meditation practice. Available as a CD or download from our website.

Included excursions

Halfway through the two weeks, there will be an excursion to beautiful Fort Lauderdale beach for sunrise meditation, yoga, and brunch.

Around noon, you will return to the ashram, but you are welcome to spend the rest of the afternoon on your own and arrange your own return transportation.

Driving directions from Fort Lauderdale or Miami

  • From Fort Lauderdale, take 1-595 west to I-75 south or take I-75 north from Miami
  • Take Miramar Parkway East, and go 1 1/2 miles
  • Make a right on 129 Ave
  • At the stop sign, make a left, and just after 128th Ave. you will see 12750 with the welcoming ashram sign
  • Make a right and drive 600 feet to the end of the driveway to the Ashram

From Turnpike

  • From the Turnpike, take Exit #43 Red Road, and go north to Miramar Parkway
  • Make a left then just after Flamingo Road
  • Make a left at 129 Ave, then take another left at the stop sign
  • Look for the welcoming ashram sign 12750
  • Turn right into that driveway that ends at the ashram

If you choose to drive, you may park your car at the ashram during the training.

Arrival by airplane

Fly into Fort Lauderdale International Airport or Miami International Airport and take the Super Shuttle. This is your best option and costs around 50 USD one way.
