Gurukul Yogashala Ashram has private, and shared rooms prepared for yoga students. All have private bathrooms with Western toilets and abundant hot and cold water. At the accommodation, you will find clean rooms with cozy garden view, and mountain view with refreshing showers, storage space, and complimentary Wi-Fi.

The location of the Gurukul Yogashala Ashram is dedicated in ensuring a clean and harmonious atmosphere throughout your stay, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the surroundings. This provides the ideal place for practicing yoga outdoors while gazing upon the awe-inspiring Himalayas and the sacred Ganges, making it an idyllic setting to call home during your stay.

Kundalini Philosophy

Kundalini Yoga is practised to activate the kundalini energy, which sits at the base of the spine. Kundalini awakening is called the ultimate form of yoga sadhana that is attained after steadily mastering the previous layers of yoga sadhana.

Gurukul Yogashala Ashram is located near the Ganga river. There is a beautiful forest area behind the Ashram which is part of the Rajaji National Park. The rooms overlook the Himalayan Range and the garden of Gurukul Yogashala. The Ashram is situated in a place where you will find peace away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Here, you will not only find peace but also find your inner self. You can immerse yourself in the depths of yoga and find your balance in the holy city of sages and Rishis.

While in Rishikesh, you will have the opportunity to experience various aspects of Indian culture. Gurukul Yogashala offers three vegetarian and vegan meals a day. A variety of yogic delicacies are on the menu of this 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Course. Rice, lentils, beans, chickpeas, vegetables, and flatbreads are staples. Salad is always available too.

Your yoga journey becomes smoother with their wholesome, vegan, and gluten-free yogic meals. Sattvic meals, complemented by detox teas, offer a blend of essential nutrients like vitamins, proteins, carbohydrates, calcium, and vital minerals.

  • Airfare – Travel expenses to and from India are your responsibility.
  • Visa and Travel Insurance – You will need to arrange your own visa and travel insurance for the duration of your stay.

How to get there

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to Jolly Grant Airport (DED). Gurukul Yogashala provide a free shuttle service from Dehradun Airport to school in the morning at 10:30 and evening at 16:30 on the official arrival day of every month. After booking your slot, you can inform the school about your arrival in advance. If you are reaching on any other time we can provide the transportation upon request for 25 USD.

You can also book your flight to Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL). Transfer to and from this airport is available upon request for 70 USD (one way).

Book your flight to Chandigarh Airport (IXC). Transfer to and from this airport is available upon request for 100 USD (one way).

Arrival by bus

From Delhi, take a Volvo bus to Rishikesh. Please note that these buses generally stop running after 21:00 and that traffic, time of the day, and festival celebrations on the road can lead to delays.

Arrival by train

There are various trains that travel between Rishikesh and Delhi. It is advisable to book your tickets through the official Indian railways government website or application to avoid any confusion regarding timings and payments.
