An exciting yoga teacher training at the beautiful Shangri-La awaits! This space, situated at the edge of The Alcornocales natural park, is devoted to the search for spirituality, creativity, and personal growth. Embark on a journey of truth and acceptance while deepening your knowledge and practice of Hatha and Vinyasa yoga, pranayama, meditation, health, and more. Find peace in letting go and reconnecting with your inner self. Become a part of this global La Casa Shambala family and share and receive the gifts of love, knowledge, energy, and acceptance.
Somewhere in between The Alcornocales natural park, turquoise waters of the “Coast of Light” and the bustling city of Seville, is the charming farm of Shangri-La, inspired by the novel “Lost Horizons”, with a mission to provide a safe space for spiritual growth and self-discovery all year around.
The venue offers four single private ensuite bedrooms, one double private ensuite bedroom, five twin ensuite bedrooms (2-person sharing), and one double private bedroom with a shared bathroom.
The design of this venue incorporates a lot of wooden tones, which not only makes it a part of nature but also brings a warm, homey, and cozy feel to the space, creating a place of comfort and safety. It holds two shalas, a simple yet sophisticated indoor space for silent practice (with A/C), and an outdoor open-air deck nestled in the crowns of many trees. All around the property, there are comfortable spaces in nature where you can reconnect with yourself and Mother Earth or connect with others and share the fruits of your growth and transformation.
Students who complete the training are eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT®).
If you are longing to take the first step into a deeper journey of inner discovery, this course is a leap into that journey. La Casa Shambala’s program is truly special, not only for its content and practice but also for the loving intention that it put into every part of it.
The curriculum and philosophy are focused on traditional Hatha yoga. As you will learn during the course, Hatha yoga is a way of approaching life, and the asana practice is only one of the eight limbs of the Hatha philosophy.
You will learn how to integrate the empathetic and spiritual practice of Hatha into your life, learning how to exist in the spiritual world and the modern-day world everyone is accustomed to. Vinyasa is a more modern form of yoga that comes from the Hatha asana practice. Vinyasa focuses on using breath with movement, harmonizing each movement in the yoga flow with an inhale or an exhale.
No two Vinyasa classes are the same and La Casa Shambala will teach you how to sequence beautiful Vinyasa flows that will embody your unique teaching style.
Besides teaching the Hatha philosophy, this course also puts a focus on teaching traditional Ayurveda; the Ayurvedic diet, learning about your Ayurvedic profile (the doshas) and using Ayurveda for preventative health and wellness.
As a yoga teacher, it’s important to understand human anatomy and how yoga influences your bodies on an anatomical level. This course teaches anatomy from a more traditional biological standpoint as well as the conjunction between yogic philosophy and biological principles.
This is so that the students can understand on a biological level, why a yoga asana practice makes us feel better. La Casa Shambala’s yoga asana classes are traditional Hatha, Yin / Restorative yoga, and Vinyasa. Students will finish the TTC with knowledge in teaching all three varieties of yoga classes.
Please note that this schedule is an example only and is subject to change. This is a remote location, allowing 100% concentration on this intensive yoga course and full immersion into the practice.
Each course will have one lead instructor and one assistant instructor, as well as an onsite team leader and supporting staff and volunteers to take care of students and ensure all needs are met.
Teachers may vary month to month due to holidays or teaching at other locations. Each course has two full time, qualified instructors. Class sizes are small to ensure lots of one on one attention for correcting movements, poses and breathwork.
Sara was introduced to the yoga and Reiki path in 2008 by a friend. Very quickly yoga became a way of life. In 2013, she became a yoga teacher, training in the wisdom of the Himalayas, and then completed Reiki. Since then, she has been studying and exploring yoga philosophy. She is currently leading yoga teacher training and doing regular sessions such as Reiki, chakra balancing, crystal healing, and massages. She teaches yoga classes, focusing on prana, strength, relaxation, body awareness, groundedness, and heart-centering, offered in an accessible and playful way, with devotion and love.
Maite is an experienced E-RYT 500 and YACEP accredited yoga teacher specialised in Hatha Vinyasa Flow, Yin Yoga, Traditional Hatha Tantra and Aerial Yoga. She also shares her extensive knowledge of Fundamentals of Traditional Chinese medicine and Mindfulness meditation, hosting many workshops and retreats every year. Passionate about Zen meditation, Maite invites her students to quiet the mind through the choreography of the body and the breath. Trained in Berlin, Hamburg, Indonesia and India, her mission is to contribute to the knowledge of the true self through the practice of yoga.
Susanna likes to define herself as a practitioner before anything else and approaches the art of teaching as a channel to share what she’s learned over almost 10 years of studies and regular practice. She started studying yoga in India in 2014 and in 2015 she took a one year long 200 hours teacher training in Barcelona. Since then she integrated yoga as part of her daily life and kept looking for ways to expand the boundaries of her practice exploring other forms of movement to get an even deeper understanding of the incredible potential of the human body.
The remote location of the venue offers peacefulness and stillness, allowing the creation of a true connection with nature during the training. The nature of the Cadiz region can be appreciated by walking down the many country roads around the area or joining the hiking trails. It truly is a place, among beautiful olive trees, where one can fully unwind, disconnect from the external world, and reconnect with their inner self.
The venue for this amazing course is the beautiful Shangri-La. It is situated in between the towns of Chiclana and Medina Sidonia, in El Berrueco (approximately 12 minutes drive to each one). These towns are the closest places to the venue where you can find numerous supermarkets, many restaurants, and some tourist attractions. The venue is a 35-minute drive away from the closest airport in Jerez de la Frontera and 30 minutes drive away from Cadiz town.
A 25-minute drive away is the famous “Coast of Light”, a stretch of sandy white beaches with glorious sunlight shining down all year round, reflected in the breath-taking turquoise waters of the Atlantic Ocean. There, you can spend the day sunbathing, shopping, and dining with incredible ocean views.
In the yoga tradition, food is viewed not just as sustenance, but as a powerful tool to deepen our understanding of the body, mind, and spirit, and their connection to the natural world. As part of your course, you will explore the role of food in supporting your practice, with an introduction to a plant-based, vegan diet—one that is designed to nourish, energize, and sustain you throughout your journey.
The focus of this diet is on whole, unprocessed foods like fruits, vegetables, grains, and legumes. These nutrient-dense foods offer a wide array of essential vitamins, proteins and minerals, supporting your overall health and enhancing your yoga practice.
If you have any dietary restrictions, food allergies, or special needs, please inform La Casa Shambala. They are happy to make adjustments to ensure that your nutrition supports your individual requirements while fostering balance and well-being.
