Curriculum overview
The updated 300-hour curriculum is designed to reflect the needs of evolving yoga teachers:
- Ashtanga yoga practice and teaching
- Hands-on assists for intermediate asanas
- Creative, functional Vinyasa sequencing
- Anatomy, physiology, and movement mechanics
- Yogic philosophy, ethics, and meditation practices
- The art of theming and storytelling in yoga classes
Hands-on adjustments – Start from day one
You will practice hands-on yoga adjustments right from the first week, helping you build comfort, accuracy, and confidence through ongoing, guided practice.
Learn and teach the Ashtanga series
Dive into the powerful Intermediate Series (Nadi Shodhana), focusing on strength, flexibility, nervous system regulation, and energetic purification. You'll learn detailed posture breakdowns, safe progression techniques, and how to skillfully assist students through these more advanced poses.
Master Vinyasa yoga sequencing
One of the strongest modules is Vinyasa Sequencing. Learn to design creative, intelligent sequences that are rooted in functional anatomy, breath-movement synchronicity, and yogic philosophy. Create classes that are cohesive, purposeful, and inspiring.
Yoga philosophy for modern life
Study the Yoga Sutras, Bhagavad Gita, and Hatha Yoga Pradipika to deepen your personal growth and teaching voice. Discussions are practical, relevant, and focused on integration into daily life and class themes.
Applied biomechanics for yoga
Deepen your understanding of how the body moves through a biomechanics lens. Explore joint mechanics, muscle activation patterns, and posture analysis to refine both personal practice and teaching. This module emphasizes how to apply biomechanics principles specifically to Ashtanga and Vinyasa yoga, supporting alignment, injury prevention, and optimizing movement efficiency for all body types.
How to master creative and intelligent Vinyasa yoga sequencing
Creating a powerful Vinyasa yoga class requires more than linking poses together; it’s an art of intention, creativity, and precision. At Nydum Yoga, they dedicate an entire module to teaching you how to design functional, inspiring, and anatomically smart Vinyasa sequences.
In this module, you’ll learn:
- Creative sequencing strategies - Build flows that are engaging, fluid, and tailored to specific themes, anatomical focuses, or energetic intentions.
- Biomechanically sound structure - Understand how to sequence classes that protect joints, balance muscle groups, and progress students safely toward peak poses.
- Theming and storytelling in yoga classes - Elevate your classes from good to unforgettable by weaving philosophical themes, breathwork, and personal storytelling into your sequences.
- Adapting sequences for all levels - Learn how to offer modifications, layers, and intelligent variations so that every student feels successful and challenged.
Through guided practice, feedback, and personal experimentation, you’ll develop your unique voice as a Vinyasa teacher — blending tradition, creativity, and deep listening. A strong Vinyasa sequencing skillset not only transforms your classes — it transforms your students' experience of themselves.
Learn hands-on adjustments to build confidence and support your students
In today’s yoga world, the ability to offer safe, intelligent, and empowering hands-on adjustments is a rare and powerful skill. In the 300-hour yoga teacher training, hands-on adjustments are woven into the curriculum from the very first day. You’ll gain extensive real-world practice, not just theory, so you can touch with clarity, sensitivity, and purpose.
In this module, you’ll learn:
- The art of safe touch - Explore how to approach each student respectfully and read nonverbal feedback to create trust and safety.
- Adjustment techniques for intermediate poses - Learn effective adjustments not just for Primary Series poses but also for Intermediate Series heart-openers, backbends, and arm balances.
- Energetic assisting - Understand how to assist not just the physical body, but also support the breath, focus, and energetic alignment of each student.
- Building student confidence and empowerment - Master the difference between corrective, supportive, and educational assists, so your students feel empowered, not "fixed."
Through daily practice and real-time mentorship, you’ll build a strong foundation in one of yoga teaching’s most transformative and necessary skills. Touch, when offered with skill and care, becomes a bridge to deeper understanding, connection, and healing, both for your students and yourself.
