Many might wonder that yoga is enough and you don’t need to regulate your eating habits. Rishikesh Yoga Teacher Training Center believes that just practising yoga is not enough to get overall benefits of yoga because “Yoga” is not just another form of exercise but it is actually a way of life and if you eat healthy food along with yoga practice it will really create wonders for you as a healthy diet is an integral part of yogic life.

The kind of food you eat influences not just your physical well-being but also your emotional well being which includes your thoughts and emotions. According to yogic philosophy, the food you eat is not classified as proteins, carbohydrate, or fats rich foods. But instead, it is classified into three types according to the effect they have on our minds as - Satvas, Rajasic, and Tamas. Eating tamasic food makes you feel sluggish or lethargic. Rajasic food will make you feel active or maybe a little restless. On the other hand, sattvic food makes you feel energetic, enthusiastic and light.

Sattvic foods help to calm your minds and purify your bodies by stimulating the mind and body to action. Freshly cooked food which is consumed no later than 3 to 4 hours of cooking can be considered sattvic.

The food menu at Rishikesh Yoga Teacher Training Center is prepared by Master Chef Sandeep Semwal Ji who has extensive experience of working at the best 5-star hotels all over the world and has vast knowledge about sattvic foods and its benefits to the human mind and body. His vast experience focuses on hygienic preparation of food and ensures that the food carries its nutritional values which are of great importance for living a healthy life.

Only eating the right kind of food is not enough and eating the right quantity of food at the right time also play a vital role in what effects it has on your body. Eating more than the required amount of food causes you to feel lazy and lethargic, whereas eating less will not provide you with enough energy to go about your daily routine.
