This yoga teacher training offers a unique opportunity to explore the ancient yogic wisdom while restoring harmony and balance into your daily existence. You will not only bring home your own 200-hour certification but also fully immerse in a spiritual experience through various ceremonies as well as Kirtan. During this yoga teacher training, you will be staying at The Indigo Yoga Resort in Costa Rica. Costa Rica offers a variety of wonderful landscapes and microclimates and it's a home to a rich variety of flora, fauna, and diverse wildlife including spider monkeys, the quetzal bird, and the three-toed sloth.
The Indigo Yoga Resort is a boutique hotel in Malpais catering to yoga, surfing, and healthy living. It offers contemporary tropical accommodations while embracing traditional Costa Rican ambiance and culture.
All of the rooms at the resort are equipped with air-conditioning, ceiling fans, private bathrooms with hot water and “open-sky” showers, hammocks, and in-room safe box. During this yoga teacher training, various accommodations are available including tents (bring your own tent), a dormitory (up to 10 people), apartments with en-suite bathrooms for triple occupancy or double occupancy, double rooms (deluxe), and single rooms (deluxe).

Sacred Paths Yoga builds a solid foundation for you as the students to then expand upon as they find their voices as teachers or in their own personal practice. The style of yoga shared at Sacred Paths Yoga is a mindful Vinyasa flow based practice that allows one to find connection and embark upon an insightful journey within. In this yoga teacher training program, you will meet and exceed the requirements of Yoga Alliance for anatomy, techniques, philosophy, lifestyle, ethics, teaching methodology and practicum, and beyond while creating a container for self-inquiry and personal growth. While honoring the traditional forms of this practice, you explore the expansive nature of yoga and spirituality in all forms. You will view yoga as a spiritual practice, as a path to self-realization, union, bliss, conscious connection, deepened awareness and mindful living. Throughout this process, you will explore different paths to union including movement, song, dance, chanting, ceremony, and more. In this journey, you will embody yogic living, fully immersing yourselves in the experience of living and breathing this practice on and off your mat with a beloved community as the unwavering support system. On this training, you will work in a 4-day cycle with 1 day off in between. Upon completion of the coursework, peer teaching, and evaluation, you will also receive a certification of completion which will then enable you to register with Yoga Alliance as a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 200). Lacey Hickox is an (E-RYT 500) and views this sacred practice as a path to self-discovery, self-love and as a divine tool to deepen your connection with spirit. She infuses her offerings with many modalities including Thai massage, Reiki, sound healing, Earth medicine, and Shamanic ceremony.
Darin Jay Lehman (E-RYT 500) takes an integrative approach to his teachings, weaving modern day understandings of the world with many traditions including the yogic, shamanic and judaic paths. Darin merges the physical practice of yoga with the connection to higher Spirit, the elements and the directions while bringing the expression of Bhakti into his classes through music.
This yoga teacher training will take place at The Indigo Yoga Resort in Malpais, Puntarenas Province, Costa Rica. Costa Rica is known for its beautiful beaches, volcanoes, and biodiversity. A quarter of the land is made up of national parks and protected jungle, the largest in the world as a percentage of the country's territory.
The Indigo Yoga Resort is just a few steps away from the Pacific Ocean and provides everything one needs in seeking relaxation and comfort. Situated in a biodiversity hotspot, the resort is totally perfect for the nature enthusiast.
This beautiful resort is nestled in a lush green setting with an abundance of attractive tropical flowers, trees, and native wildlife. You will enjoy watching the Howler and Capuchin monkeys hanging in the trees as well as a large variety of tropical birds.
Since this yoga teacher training will be located near the ocean, you can enjoy various beach activities such as surfing. The Malpais and Santa Teresa surfing zone is situated on the tip of the Nicoya Peninsula and known for its consistent waves. The average swell running in the 3-5 foot range breaking over beautiful sand beaches.
Playa Carmen, 2 kilometers from The Indigo Yoga Resort, will be your main surfing spots. Depending on your needs and abilities, you will also have opportunities to go to the surf breaks at Banana Beach, Santa Teresa, and Playa Hermosa. There is also an opportunity to experience stand up paddle boarding (SUP) right in Malpais.
During this yoga teacher training, you will enjoy daily vegetarian breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The meals are prepared lovingly with the freshest local organic ingredients.

You can book your flight and arrive at Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO). From the airport, you can continue your half-day trip to Mal Pais or Santa Teresa by bus or shuttle. Besides bus, you can also continue your trip by airplane and arrive at Tambor Airport (TMU).
Every day at 6 a.m. and 2 p.m., there is a public bus from Downtown San Jose (the bus station is called “7-10”) to Santa Teresa and it costs 15 USD. This is a direct bus (it gets on the ferry with you and then you reboard the bus after the ferry ride) and will arrive at the Cruce in Santa Teresa at 12 p.m. or 8.30 p.m. From there, you will need to get a taxi to Indigo Yoga Resort which is 2 kilometers south of the Cruce.
Upon arrival at the Cruce in Santa Teresa, you can travel by taxi to Indigo Yoga Resort, which is 2 kilometers south of the Cruce.
