Trauma-Sensitive yoga is a treatment for survivors of trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) offering effective healing and symptom reduction. Samasthala Yoga has carved out time within their syllabus to provide the teacher trainee with an understanding of the core concepts of Trauma-sensitive yoga and techniques to implement into teaching and practice.
You will be made privy to the complete Aṣṭāṅga inspired Vinyasa Flow sequence that has been honed over thousands of hours of classes.
Samasthala Yoga deeply explores a broad area of philosophy that is instrumental within the curriculum program. This is to include historical makeup of yoga, the Sutras, three guṇas, Patanjali's eight limbs, vṛttis, pañca kleśās, and the Purusharthas.

Troy has taught yoga full time all over the world for over 12 years and has over 8,000 hours of teaching experience in-studio classes and directing yoga teacher training. Troy is a 500-hour Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (500 E-RYT) through the Yoga Alliance and has taken many trainings throughout his yoga journey to attain certification in many different styles of yoga, massage, and movement disciplines. He spends his time between Bali and Los Angeles, but has traveled and taught yoga to adults and children in many locations around the world.
With more than 3,000 teaching hours and 500 E-RYT, Kiara has taught classes in the yoga studio and gyms, at resorts, in corporate offices, juvenile centers, and country clubs. She has taught to at-risk youth, celebrities, varying kinds of athletes, individuals suffering from physical and psychological illness, and advanced and beginning yogis. She has spent years teaching students one-on-one and leading groups in classes, workshops, and immersive retreats. Kiara started leading 200hr yoga teacher training in 2016.
Athena is an E-RYT 500hr certified teacher who studied at Rishikesh Yog Peeth in India. Her classes are designed to bring awareness to the breath, body and movement while respecting the abilities and safety of one's own physical form, alignment and structure. She has a special focus on teaching trauma-sensitive classes, a topic she is deeply passionate about and will dedicate the rest of her teaching journey to. Her core principles for yoga are respecting the body. To do the work not only on the surface but allowing for space to listen to and embrace the spirit within.
