Food
World Yoga Association (WYA) believes food is a vital part of the yoga journey. They encourage all yoga teachers and students to embrace a sattvic diet — a plant-based vegetarian or vegan diet that supports overall health, strengthens and nourishes the internal organs, enhances vitality, and offers a holistic experience rooted in traditional yogic principles.
Important
World Yoga strictly refrains from providing, supporting, or paying for the consumption of eggs; fish (freshwater and saltwater species); seafood of any kind (including but not limited to stingray, prawns, shrimp, crab, lobster, squid, octopus, clams, mussels, oysters, snails, and all shellfish); poultry (such as chicken, duck, turkey, quail); and meat (including mutton, beef, pork, venison, or any other land or wild animals). This policy is rooted in the Traditional Yoga practice of "Ahimsa" (non-violence), which we avoids causing pain or harm to animals and upholds compassion toward all living beings.
If any participant chooses to consume any animal-based food, it must be arranged entirely at their own expense. World Yoga and our yoga instructors will not cover any cost, responsibility, or arrangement for such meals.
Additionally, ANY food obtained outside our designated meals, any special order beyond our provided meals, or any food ordered outside the premises is the sole responsibility and sole expense of the participant.
