Course information
Unlike many Yin trainings that stop at shapes and sequences, this program invites you to discover the deeper why behind the practice; drawing from Daoist wisdom, traditional yogic principles, and the science of interoceptive awareness. Together, you will journey through philosophy, anatomy, energetics, sequencing, meditation, and sound healing, while honoring Yin’s essence of rest, nourishment, and community. You will not only gain the confidence and skills to teach Yin yoga, but also the lived wisdom to share it authentically from your own experience.
Areas of study
Focused, hands-on learning designed to deepen your understanding of Yin yoga and strengthen your teaching skills with real-world application.
- Yin or Yang philosophy: Translate Yin or Yang philosophy into simple, useful tools for teaching
- Energetics and the subtle body (nadis, myofascial Meridians, and nervous system): Study the energetic systems that guide Yin yoga, including fascia, meridian theory, and nervous system regulation
- Yin yoga postures (alignment, anatomy, and awareness): Learn key Yin poses with a focus on safe alignment, anatomical variation, and cultivating body awareness
- Principles of teaching and class designing: Gain practical skills in cueing, pacing, and adapting your teaching, while learning how to structure classes with clear themes and intentional sequencing
- Historical roots of Yin yoga: Explore the evolution of Yin yoga and how traditional practices have shaped the modern method
- Meditation, Yoga Nidra, and pranayama: Confidently lead Yin yoga sessions incorporating meditation, Yoga Nidra, and pranayama to nurture nervous system resilience and relaxation
- Sound bath workshop: Gain skills to use Tibetan bowls, crystal bowls, and tuning forks for creating immersive sound bath sessions alongside Yin yoga
- Teaching practicum: Lead classes for both your peers and the public, with guided feedback to strengthen your skills and presence
