Yoganandham - A School of Yoga Learning conducts 100 Hour Yoga Teacher Training in a yoga ashram in Rishikesh at Aanand Dham Ashram, Rishikesh, India. This program is based on an ancient traditional style of yoga with a touch of modern style of yoga. In this course, you will go through all aspects of yoga in the guidance of very well experienced teaching staffs. This course is most appropriate for students who wants to learn all aspects of yoga in a very short time, since you will learn Hatha yoga, Ashtanga yoga, Raja yoga, Vinyasa yoga, Bhakti yoga, Sadhna yoga, pranayama (breathing techniques), Patanjali yoga, cleansing techniques, and different types of meditation techniques etc. This course will strengthen your own practice allowing you to use your own experience to start teaching yoga to others with confidence.
You will stay at Anand Dham Ashram during this teacher training. Anand Dham Ashram is a yoga ashram with a perfectly natural and spiritual setting which helps you a lot through all your spiritual journey. The vision of the ashram is to create a comfortable, nurturing sanctuary for spiritual seekers (sadhaks) from around the world, where they will have safe food, clean water, and guidance for their spiritual journey. Anand Dham Ashram has more than 40 rooms (single rooms and double rooms) and four yoga halls. All of the rooms have single beds with bedding appropriate to each season, and an adjoining bathroom with hot water and western toilet.
Yoganandham in India runs classes with holistic, integrating with all aspect of yoga: asana, pranayama, meditation, yogic philosophy, sadhana, and Vedic chanting. Yoga classes take place twice daily (except on Sundays) at 07:00 and 16:00 and are open to the public as well as ashram residents. Three yoga halls allow sadhaks and guests to practice during scheduled special events; one on the ground level, second on the third floor, and third on the roof. All the yoga halls are clean, authentic, and natural space for yoga practice. Each hall is supplied with pillows, bricks, bolsters and yoga mats.
Yoga teacher training at Yoganandham covers all aspects of yoga physical aspects as well as mental aspects and spiritual aspects, which includes the practice of asanas, Ashtanga yoga, Hatha yoga, Bhakti yoga, breathing techniques, cleansing techniques, yoga sadhana, meditation, and other yogic practices. The total number of students in each course is approximately 20 divided into two batches of 10 students.
100-hour yoga teacher training program follows a tight schedule where almost each of the seven to eight training hours in the day is assigned to some aspect of yoga. You could find the training intensive but enlightening. Depending on the weather and season, the mornings can begin as early as 06:00 - 07:00 with meditation, followed by some yoga postures and maybe some classes or lectures in philosophy or anatomy. Chanting and pranayama are also part of the schedule. Daily written homework is also the norm as that is how you will gain in-depth knowledge of the subject. Sleeping early is encouraged as that is part of yogic practice.
The teacher training course is a comprehensive course which will provide you the knowledge about yoga philosophy, history, and its development. The course will help you master yoga asanas (positions) and will make you understand the effect of it on the body through yogic anatomy and yoga therapy. The motive is to spread your authentic knowledge of yoga to the world in its purest form. You will observe daily pranayama and meditation classes along with mantra chanting so you understand their strengthening and balancing properties. The course will bring you an understanding of the yogic discipline, diet, and cleansing rituals (shatkarma), and you will be taught teaching methodology to enrich your teaching skills.
Yogic postures comprise four hours of the daily schedule. Students will be introduced to the various asanas in a systematic manner with a progressively increasing level of difficulty. Once the basics are mastered, asana flows, adjustments, and subtle aspects of breath and awareness will be brought in to focus. Students will learn many postures of texts Hatha Yoga Pradipika and Gheranda Samhita. You will also study various asanas and the technique of teaching the postures, the benefits of each posture, modifications, contraindications, and the use of props.
Learn how to adjust these asanas and understand how the adjustment can deepen your practice.
These are based on traditional yogic breathing techniques which will benefit your yoga practice as you learn how to lengthen your breath. How to incorporate breathing into postures and into your classes. How breath work assists the body.
These yogic cleansing practices will be integrated into the daily morning schedule and will work in conjunction with the asana practices. These will purify the nervous system and allow your breath to flow freely throughout the body. In expelling toxins from the body, you will, therefore, cleanse it.
Stimulate different parts of the body by sealing in the energy. These are usually used in pranayama and affect the flow of prana.
How they regulate the flow of energy and assists the practitioner in asana.
You will cover a range of meditation techniques that will help build concentration and focus in your daily practice. Techniques include om chanting, chakra, and candlelight meditation.
A range of mantras will be taught including the Gayatri mantra, Mrityunjay mantra, and many more. You will find your inner harmony in these sessions.

From Dehradun Airport (DED) to AnandDham Ashram, it is 16 kilometers by road. You can take a prepaid cab from outside the airport. Yoganandham - A School of Yoga Learning also has a paid pickup facility from the airport. For pickup arrangements, you have to inform Yoganandham prior your travel.
Tapovan where the Ashram is located, is 28 kilometers from Haridwar. The Rishikesh bus station is five kilometers away from the Yoganandham - A School for Yoga Learning. The bus to Rishikesh leaves from Haridwar every hour. You can also take an auto from the Rishikesh bus station to AnandDham Ashram.
Haridwar is directly connected by rail to all main cities in India. When you reach Haridwar, buy a prepaid taxi from the stand at the entrance of the station. This will save you the trouble of negotiating a price with the driver. The bus station is situated across the street, where there is regular service to Rishikesh Bus Stand which is four kilometers Away from Yoganandham Ashram. You are advised to book rail tickets as soon as possible. Trains are usually fully booked near the time of travel. Train e-tickets can be booked up to three months in advance via the internet. For reserved tourist quota seats, you will need to visit the railway reservations office.
